Y'all may have read how concerned McDonald's was with how dark the film was, and that it was incompatible with their family-friendly marketing.

Luckily for them (if not us) Burton left and Batman Forever turned out much brighter.

I didn't care much for BF and B & R was *beep* , so the Burtons are my favs.

I kinda see the point , that BR was a tad too dark , even B89 had some humor like art gallery/balloons etc.
