Regarding Nam, he was basically my introduction into the movie section, I think his motto at the time was “destroy noobs” or something like that :lol

I always thought he was funny though, and he’s even a stand up guy, paid me when we had our X-Men vs Winter Soldier bet. I spoke to him a few times early last year, but since then he’s gone ghost.

Celtic I only had one argument with before he got the boot. I didn’t really mind him either though. Both guys made the movie section pretty damn fun though and it looks like WWEJedi is a worthy successor.

He, a worthy successor of Nam? Bros, you haven't been paying attention.

There's a way out of the hole as far as I can see but I'm not sure he'll take it. He claims not to care.

Anyway, Hey Prince and Pturtle, if you could choose between having the DCEU as is, or have it MCU style, what would you have?

I'll take the DCEU, because I've seen what the MCU has to offer, and I like it, but I'll take MOS over most MCU films, and the fact that the DC/WB doesn't have one guy like Kevin Faige keeping all the films with the same tone and look, makes the upcoming DC films more interesting, because they all might be different from each other, which could be a disaster, but at least it's different. Plus the MCU doesn't have X-Men, one of my favorite Marvel properties.

DCEU definitely.

If BvS sucks, I still have a faith that Suicide Squad will be great. But out of the like 12 Marvel movies, I only really love one, and like 2 others, but I just can't take the sarcastic humor anymore. Maybe it's because of Whedon, or maybe due to the popularity of Robert Downey, but the sarcastic jokes make up for like 90% of the dialogue in those films, and it just kills me. Add to that how safe these movies have been playing it, I just know what to expect from that world now, and I hate it :lol just based on the look of Leto's Joker, I know WB is willing to take risks and let the filmmakers make the movie they want to make.

I don't think MOS is very good, but I do respect it more than 90% of Marvel's flicks. Even if BvS ends up sucking, I'll probably respect it more, unless I see it trying to copy Marvel's formula.

What hole am I in.

What way out of the non existent hole is there that I won't take.

I really don't care if a guy from Ireland doesn't like me.

From what is described of these two folk "heroes" of yours from the past.... I can see a lot of similar qualities.

Aaaah my sentiments exactly, if DC is gonna fail and reboot again, at least it's gonna fail by its own terms.

On the serious tone, I prefer that these movies take themselves seriously, people say the MCU "respects" their stuff, that really isn't the case, they make a joke out of themselves like non-readers usually do to make it more edible for the wider audience, and it's something even Marvel comics are mimicking now.

They weren't heroes they just use to show out alot and made people mad. Im surprised people still remember celtic P and nam is still here. Honestly all they did was not like a popular upcoming movie and people would go into a tizzy.

That's why I put heroes in quotation marks :lol Outcasts then :lol

That's not quite true, both liked the MCU and stuff like Pacific Rim, and I bet they both would've liked TFA, JW.

It wasn't so much their opinions as the fact that they immediately turned stuff personal, and caused many meltdowns in the thin skin community.

You act as if liking that stuff is a bad thing.

It is, it's terrible.

EDIT: Because I apparently have to clear it out, of course liking that stuff isn't bad, I only mentioned that stuff cause it's popular, to make a point that they liked popular stuff and they weren't "contrarians". I think most people would've picked up on that. Sorry man, I tried with you, I really did, but I give up.

Yup, I said this before too, Hawkeye in Age of Utron is a prime example of this. It's also done because of lazy writing, Marvel's writers don't want to take the time to come up with a decent, plausible explanation for the concept of these characters and their powers/weapons. Iron Man 1 was really the only one that did this best in my opinion.

g-guise I really don't care, please believe me! let me tell you again!

Iron Man looks better every time I watch it, lately I've been thinking I like it more than TWS.

And what about Thor being turned into a tech alien and now they're introducing Dr. Strange with real magic (it is real magic isn't it? :lol)... Man Thor is easily the most ****ed over character in the MCU.

He's not even that strong in the films....plus he never wears the helmet.

I have to keep saying it otherwise you will forget.

As far as what pturtle said, I thought they set up Cap good in his first movie. I can understand the complaints with the others though.

I've been disliking Hemsworth more and more, he's definitely the worst miscast on the whole MCU. His last comments on Thor 3 needing GotG humor was the last drop.

One more time, please. You caring makes me forget you don't care.

I think they did a decent job setting him up, but as far as explaining and showing what he's capable they failed. He's a totally different beast in TWS compared to TFA, and one of my biggest problems with that movie, they never showed Cap mastering different fight styles. As soon as he becomes Captain America he just knows all these different fighting moves. In the comics, Cap pretty mastered all fighting styles, and because he was the perfect human he was able to learn everything extremely fast.

I don't mind their explanation for Thor, but I don't see why they did that, it wasn't necessary at all, especially considering there's characters like Thanos and Groot in the MCU.

I forgot TFA also stands for Cap :lol

I don't mind that myself, it's implicit being Cap he's gonna kick ***, and he already had military training so I thought it was already there.
