Irish, do you have any info on what possible figures are coming from HT for the film?
Is it closer to Nolan's TDK book or Marvel ones in terms of the amount of concept art?Yeah, it's pretty cool. If you like Art of books you'll definitely dig it.
The Tech Manual is also cool, but I'll admit bias there since I helped edit that one.
Not really, other than ones that have been sent to WB & Cruel Films for initial Approval. I do know that there was a 1:6 Wonder Woman that they have yet to reveal for whatever reason. Other than that the only ones I know of are the ones they've already officially shown (Batman, Armored Batman, Knightmare Batman, and Supes).Irish, do you have any info on what possible figures are coming from HT for the film?
I'd say it's closer to the Nolan one they did, but just without all the cool removable extras (unless they added those after the initial review copies... I actually have yet to see the final book myself). But yeah, there's lots of concept art and photos in it.Is it closer to Nolan's TDK book or Marvel ones in terms of the amount of concept art?
Can you elaborate on this inital approval thing? Figures were sent to WB and Cruel Films? Motuxmen said HT requested reference on Bruce and Lex, I hope they happen.
I've seen a mostly finished cut (probably what will be the Extended R-Rated version on Blu-ray, just with only about 90% of the FX complete) but won't see the final Theatrical version until the Premiere on Sunday night. I actually can't say a single thing else until after that. But even after that I'm not likely to share any personal opinion on the movie itself. Because of conflict of interests I will recuse myself.
I will, however, speak on facts and non-subjective things as much as I can.
I guess I can say this, though (because it can mean anything, and is also a "Duh!"):
Chris Terrio > David Goyer
Are u a trump supporter? No shade, just wondering .

Oh you can talk this Sunday? That won't be long then, cool. I expect to enjoy the film with or without tornados I'm just curious as to what type of internet ****storm I might be witnessing after the fact.
Thanks for that bit of info. Learn something new everyday around here.Yeah. I'm not sure about the contract specifics as it pertains to DC Films' licensing (because it's obviously MASSIVE and complex), but I know that WB has Cruel Films (Zack and gang) give initial reviews and approvals on certain items before they (along with DC) give official approvals. There are 2 stages of the Approval process: Preliminary and Final. The Preliminary Approvals are pretty quick and easy. This is when Hot Toys sends photos and then a physical prototype to the licensor for review, and then get a quick Yay or Nay on whether they can announce and solicit the product. But before they can actually mass produce and release the product, it has to go through the Final process, which includes attorneys and often the talent's (actor) manager, etc. That can sometimes take a while, or throw unexpected monkey wrenches.
For the initial approvals, WB likes to have certain licensees (like Hot Toys) products go to the Cruel Films offices (which is actually right there on the Warners lot anyway) for feedback first, then they'll do a quick review before giving HT the preliminary thumbs-up. This is when HT can announce and solicit with the "Pending Licensor Approval" disclaimer as it's still technical in the final approval process. They did this with the above-mentioned figures, including Wonder Woman... so I'm not sure what the hold up is on HT announcing that one.
I do believe the standard Bats & Supes and Armored Bats have gone through all Approvals now. Knightmare is still pending final Approval. Not sure on Wonder Woman. Again, the ball is in HT's court on that one.
