Edginess doesn't make a movie bad, same as it doesn't make a movie good. End of story.

:goodpost:

Well said. Every film must be judged on its own merit.

I'm also reminded of the saying "In trying to please everybody, you wind up pleasing no one."

Or in the case of Snyder: "If you're trying to be cool, then you're trying too hard."

To have that much anger, negativity and invective toward something like this with everything else going on in the world is really quite depressing. We're all fine with people not liking these movies, but lines are starting to be crossed now... and that's not cool.

but that kind of makes perfect sense. "With everything else going on in the world" well yeah, exactly. There are a lot of really bad things going on in the world and people choose entertainment to escape. And they choose to get angry at a movie instead of getting angry at explosions going on overseas because even getting so angry at a movie is part of that escapism. (getting angry at something trivial and not getting depressed with the current world situation)

Afterward, I talked to my girlfriend about it. She's a kind, sweet soul (much moreso than me :lol) but also a tad naive. She gives everyone the benefit of the doubt in ways which my battle-fatigued self cannot. In response to those attacking Zack so savagely, she said "I know he won't, but what if all of this got to him and he hurt himself or something. Then they'd feel bad for being so hateful over movies." It was then that it dawned on me... You know, I think some of them would actually LIKE for that to happen.

lets not forget...
that most of the strongest hate (even from high critics) is from Marvel diehard fans... lets' not forget that because the people trashing this the most online or facebook are people that have Iron Man or Capt America avatars....
just saying.

Not all diehard Marvel fans hate it. I was praying that this would be THE superhero movie. I love Wonder Woman, Superman and sometimes Batman. I was disappointed with the MoS but i was hoping this would be a home run for DC. I'm still excited for the Wonder Woman movie next year.

There's actually still a major possibility that the R rated cut on Blu ray might get a better reception. I'm reading that the movie has some editing issues, maybe thats due to some stuff getting taken out to get this a PG-13 rating.

Maybe the Rated R Director's cut on Blu-Ray will be better :dunno

this will be the new Alien 3

not all marvel fans are being hard on it, BUT the worst hate I was seeing around was either completely comparing to marvel over and over and over again, saying how this needs to be exactly like a marvel movie...

OR it really was people having Marvel avatars and stuff, IMDB, youtube, other comic sites, the strongest hate on all of them had marvel pics or their names had marvel references.

I know some people hating it are also NON comic movie fans as well, thats true, people that dont like anything comic related. im just saying

Good luck trying to sell those 1:1 Batman statues at $7500 and $8000 a pop, Hot Toys. :lol

Movie Aside this is what really has me worried. People always complain about Iron Man figs, but we all know they sell no matter how redundant they may be, but if this movie tanks the hype for anything DC will be completely lowered to the point no one will want to buy anything from them. Goodbye 1966 batman related goodies, or anything other than main DC figs. Hot Toys doesn't release that many villains IMHO.
