Wow, so it is possible for a film to make almost a billion and be considered a flop.

Depends on what is considered a flop.....dollars and cents no......critical and public opinion maybe.

WB had MoS and BvS to set the foundation for their universe neither hit well with critics and has split the fan base. If foundation doesn't have proper support how successful will all the other films be? They need a win not necessarily in dollars to re-engage fans. I don't know if SS will be that film or Batfleck (who was well received) needs jumped started.

I heard a rumor that the new Batman film will cram a lot of villains in it. I hope they don't cram things up to the brim just for the sake of showing X character on screen. It didn't work here and I have my doubts they can make it work there.

would love a Batman Neil Gaiman Arkham film made by Fincher or Villenvue

Yes! I can see it being quick cameos in arkham. Or maybe something more along the lines of hush or Arkham. Or hell, something similar to the video games. Would prefer to have a tighter story though with someone like riddler being behind the whole thing. I different take on long halloween would be epic.

Bingo.

As for cramming Bat-villains into a movie, I think it's high time someone did it!

Bookworm, Clock King, Crazy Quilt, Firefly, Clayface, Kite Man, Calendar Man. Do it, Affleck.

Crammed as in they are shown in their cells as Batman walks down a Arkham hallway. Since Suicide Squad establishes that magic and the supernatural exist in the DCCU, I think Clayface would rock as a main villain.

Good lord, are you guys are so desperate see those villains that you're willing to chuck character and pathos out the window? I guess it could be done right, but when has it really worked?

Character and pathos in the DC movieverse went out the window with Michelle Pfeiffer.

Michele pfeiffer was classic. Great mirror image to Keaton's batman

This.

It wouldn't have made half the money it did, and the RT score would've been 10x more painful to watch.

Yup!

Honestly, it would've taken money away from BOTH movies at first, but once audiences started seeing that the critics and their fellow theater-goes were more favorable towards Civil War, that would've made BvS bleed money even more.

It was a game of chicken that WB wisely stood down from.

Also, once theaters saw that Civil War was making more money, the numbers of screens and showings available for BvS would've dropped much quicker and essentially the movie would be pulled out of theaters much faster. Pushing the movie earlier allowed WB to make more cash without much Superhero competition and run the film at theaters for much longer than it would have if it stuck to its normal date.

I suppose. I was just thinking about all the kids out of school that could go to the movie during the week, like they'll be doing for Civil War.

I think it would have been fine/the same. Maybe done better in the summer

BvS is old news.

In two or three weeks, Civil War will be old news.

Who cares.
