I saw this back when it came out and I really loved it. I may have been one of the only ones. I personally felt it captured the "grimdark" DC Comics of the early 90s I loved as a kid, and I also thought the music was eerie and unsettling, like a Kubrick movie or 12 Monkeys. I loved it.

I knew a fellow Otomo fan had to be a patrician of fine taste.

I'd say it says a lot about DC's handling of their villains that Shannon's Zod is still the best, but, honestly? Dude's just that good of an actor. And, say what you will about Man of Steel as a film, but I found Zod to be infinitely more compelling than Luthor, Joker, or, pretty much, any member of the Suicide Squad.
