Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

Same here! Those are both the artists that sold me on their suits. Since they are probably going to use Darkseid in one of these Justice League movies, or here's hoping-a solo Superman movie, I hope they don't make him so large. I hated that, and it took away from the character. Let a lone, they made him a dumb video game boss, rather than the manipulative devil.

I always liked Wonder Woman, I never got into her solo stories other than the George Perez stuff. I loved her in every crossover and in Justice League, especially when Joe Kelly made her and Batman an item. It was pretty sweet when she killed the Joker to avenge him. I wonder if they're going to incorporate that dynamic in the future movies.

I actually like new 52 Darkseid a lot, he's a beast, and in JL War I loved his introduction: "I am entropy, I am death" while he was levitating, the physical aspect of him I love, but yes, I also want to see more of an evil manipulator.

She looks great, skinny WW should not be a problem.

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

If I'm truly honest... yeah for me it is a slight problem. I don't know the exact source of WW's actual strength, but I always thought it had at least a partial basis in muscularity.

I'm not biased against Gadot if she sells it, she'll sell it and I'll love it. But I'm not inspired buy confidence in her doing so when I see her.

Nope, her powers come from the gods, she did train and all but her physique has nothing to do with her powers...

Besides, she's often drawn skinny in the current continuity and animated movies.

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

Batman's bicep is about the size of her waist.

She gets her power from the Greek Gods, who "blessed" her with divine power (strength, flight, etc.) and gifts (lasso, bracelets, etc.). Plus, she's a trained Amazonian warrior from Paradise Island. We'll see how this is interpreted in the film but fans are worried that she has "Kryptonian" origins.

Good luck to Gadot, I share the sentiments that she does look skinny for the role, but we'll see how she looks in the outfit which might help to "buff" her up.

I thought she was Amazonian or something. I googled, "Amazon Woman" and well, I found some interesting results. :lol

Amazon, not Amazonian, you know Gadot was flamed for confusing the Greek mythological Amazons with the DC mythological Amazons? Don't make the same mistake. :lol

They're both fictional nations of women, in the greek culture the amazons aren't even depicted as big and muscular, look for some pics of statues or something, and in DC, they're not depicted big and muscular either, only Wonder Woman, but she's not that big these days anyway.

Sounds like Affleck might have to educate Gadot during filming. WAY TO RESEARCH A ROLE, GADOT!!!!!! :lol

And I never liked it there either. I basically would prefer something more along the lines of Xena. Not that she was a female Arnie, but still.

Honestly it's also about aesthetics, I'm a bit tired of just seeing really skinny women. But again, if she compensates by indeed being a great fit and having the acting chops, I will forgive anything else.

Still highly doubt we'll actually see her in any action in this film.

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

Affleck gonna educate her, but not about mythology. :lol

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

My advice: nobody's forcing you to read my posts....so don't.:wave

I'm just saying, whether or not she's a few pounds on the skinny side seems like the least of the potential problems that one could have with this movie. If I were looking for a reason to hate, I'd be thinking along the lines of "will the script suck," or "will they be able to remedy the issues I had with Man of Steel," or, if Wonder Woman's that important, how about "I just don't know about Gadot; she's had a few bit parts in action movies; is that really enough to take on the role of one of the most iconic superheroes of all time?"

All totally valid points, for someone who didn't particularly care for Man of Steel, but "looks like we're getting a stick for Wonder Woman seems petty. It'd be different if she was 200 lbs or looked unhealthily skinny, but she has a healthy, athletic physique going in those pics. Olympic volleyball player she is not, but, again, out of all of the potential issues one could have with this film, this is the one you choose to voice your opinion on?

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

Actually she was a trainer FOR the Israeli military, I'm pretty confident she can **** someone up in real life.

I'm just not confident she'll look like that.:lol And visual appeal and conveyance is an important aspect of a cb movie to me.

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

This is why I think Snyder should get his Wonder Woman pic out ASAP, providing she looks good; ride the waves of the Batfleck high. If she looks good, like Batfleck, that's half the battle won, right there.

She weighs 110 lbs and was still actively modeling during her whopping 2 years of military service. Beyond leap of faith to confuse her for the fictional character of Ziva David

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

All this back and forth and I bet Wonder Woman/Diana is just a small, bit part. :lol
