Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

If a skinny Superman isn't acceptable, why would a skinny WW be alright? I'm riding this hate train all the way, all aboard!

LMfao @ crows, you just had to pick that character of all people?:lol

It was the only one with that expression that I found

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

And I never liked it there either. I basically would prefer something more along the lines of Xena. Not that she was a female Arnie, but still.

Honestly it's also about aesthetics, I'm a bit tired of just seeing really skinny women. But again, if she compensates by indeed being a great fit and having the acting chops, I will forgive anything else.

Still highly doubt we'll actually see her in any action in this film.

I see where you're coming from, but I'm confident Snyder can coach her, he can make female characters look very very good, I'm not worried about her action sequences (if there are any in this movie), I'm more worried about her character acting, WW has to have a confident regal air combined with an innocent "fish out of the water" personality, and judging by the FF movies, she's voguing the whole time, squinting her eyes and making blue steel looks :lol

Because Superman has never been drawn skinny, not in canon at least, besides male standards for the peak male form are based on musculature, women standards are not.

How many times has Wonder Woman been depicted as waify? Peak female form may not be as extreme as males, but when it comes to Wonder Woman the standard is significantly more muscular than your average super model.

A lot, and even more so lately.

If there are versions of her where she is skinny, you can like it or dislike it, but it's no longer inaccurate.

I mean, the TV show :dunno and I wouldn't call it a standard to have a big WW.

Except for the first one, none of those illustrations fit the Gadot physique. Perhaps "bony" is a better adjective. Just say no to thigh gap! :horror

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

They fit just fine, all of them, look at those arms, they're just as thin as Gadot's.

Also, thigh gap has nothing to do with musculature or slenderness, some girls make thigh gaps look good.

A couple more:

A couple more:

When you're crossing your legs and you still have a gap, there's a problem. It doesn't look good.

The top one isn't too bad, they made sure to delineate a good amount of muscle on a small frame, the second one has some pretty deep cuts on the shoulders and her bust is obviously beyond what Gadot could garner, the third one looks like a normal girl in her late teens with bad posture. Mixed bag.

Back to Gadot, ScarJo looks like she could eat her up and spit her out despite the fact that she's what, 8 inches shorter. The opportunity to externalize some of her fabled qualities as a superhero has been skipped over in favor of a recovering anorexic. Like Affleck, she'll have to give us a performance we never knew she had in her in order to make this remotely sellable.

Batman vs. Superman (2016)

She does have arms and shoulders like that, those pics fit Gadot perfectly.

And the ****s complaint is just petty nonsense.

Anyway, all that is irrelevant, like I said, you can like it or dislike it but it's not inaccurate.

I think.. really.. after all the things that've been said about the girl, I'm behind her now.

It's amazing the kind of stuff that's been slung at her, she's got my backing from here on.

Hate to say it, but bust size is one of the things that factors into the peak female standards in comic books and WW. They wouldn't have designed her golden crest the way they did if it was meant to fit on an A-cup. While we could disagree about the level of muscle tone in those examples you supplied, I won't place any of them below a "C". Gadot has a full face, but it doesn't carry down below the chin.

Gadot is alright as far as super-waifs go but I'm just one of many who don't find it commanding enough to pass for WW. The hate train will keep rolling on this one.

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

My vile male perspective battling my reasonable realistic self is making me feel like two-face right now.:lol

I'm definitely not against Gadot, solely because I'm never against an actor whose performance I've yet to see. I think that screenshot from justice league war would fit her well.

Snyder absolutely could've had pretty much anyone I'd say, so the fact that she got it is a convincing factor in and of itself (for me). But aesthetically speaking she's thus far not who I'd like to have seen, won't be coy about that. There's nothing wrong with wanting to see something that's visually akin to what you associate with the role.

That said, I have every ounce of goodwill toward this project, the filmmakers and ergo Gadot, so if she convinces me in the cinema from a neutral starting point, I'll be content.

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

One thing I will say, if guys can get away with undersuit padding to achieve bigger abs, - and they do, even in Cavill's superman costume he had 'help' - than women can do the same... I don't see the difference.

Both is nothing but aesthetic. So with that in mind, I don't really have issues with who Gadot is in real life, I could only have issues with how she looks in the film, but there's enough tricks to make that "cb accurate".

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

So, has Galdot put on size since the F&F movies? She didn't have any of the shape shown on any of those WW comic pics when they showed her in a bathing suit. She looked like a model, definitely the 5'9, 100 to 110 lbs she reportedly weighed at the time, her pro modeling weight.
