Holy c*** that looks amazing! Turns out the sculpt was pretty good after all, just the paint let it down

And also covering up the translucent stuff they used is so much better

Yeah, seems like majority is in the eyes. Great job. Can't wait to see a photo of the entire statue with the fixed head.

At this stage I don't think it has anything to do with the material used. Sideshow just can't get the job done.

Other companies are using translucent resins etc to great effect in their movie pieces.

The repaint makes her look human again but IMO it still doesn't look like Gadot... Not to mention to repaint the whole statue is probably going to cost you around $300+ so I'm not sure it's really worth it.....

It's definitely the eyes that let it down, they look too slim from Sideshow, the repaint brings the eyes alive.
Sideshow need to hire this person..... embarrassing that a hobbiest can do a better job than a multi million dollar company....

The sculpt isn't usually the issue although people consistently blame them. 90% of the time it's paint to that's the issue.

Sadly this is too often the case, just look at the say the Rogue PF, which was amazing if you paid extra for pros to undo and correct what SS put in the box :lol

I look at my Snow Day Lara Croft which has an really nice paint job, attention to detail is on point. Vs lets say my PF black widow, which I do love, but has the '**** cleavage paint glob issue' :(.
- Minor thing, but should be avoided.

Credit where it's due, they do sometimes get it right, such as Jane Foster, which in my case was faultless, and had a great paint app.
Not to say someone couldn't do better, (wouldn't that always be the case) but is a fair justification of price paid, vs a product turning up which you are unhappy and then effectively having to re-buy the item again just to get it too look half decent / pull a massive salvage job.

I'm really glad I didn't pre-order this one.

Although on balance, given that sideshow is cheaper than others like xm and prime 1, getting it repainted wouldn't be that bad if you were a die hard fan and loved the pose. Not for me though as I'm not willing to pay that much and mess around

I finally received my tracking number this morning and I should have my PF this Friday.

Time to sacrifice a bucket of KFC to the Statue Gods. :lol

:lol :lol

Yeah and that's kinda my point: We shouldn't have to. SS have this annoying trend of being inconsistent, one solid piece one minute (Jane Foster) and then a train wreck then next: Super Girl, god that thing should be fired into the sun it's so unspeakably bad.

Under no circumstance should collectors be expected to pay $400+ on a statue and then have it sent to a artist to be properly painted. Yes that is an option, and customs are very cool, but in order to correct a piece that should never left a factory - No. :(

I saw this pictures on Facebook, really good.

Already posted in the last two pages. Sideshow really failed on the paint job :slap

Ask them to post the entire statue with the new paint job, curious to see how it looks
Oh sorry. Tapatalk did something wrong, I can't see it.
Sorry again

No worries at all. Do you know if the painter posted a photo of the entire statue with the new headsculpt? Or if they are doing a full repaint?
