BC2 isn't Battefield 2, its Bad Company 2, and I have to agree not to rub it in, but until you've played a game like this with maxed graphics, 64 players, and air combat, you have no idea what an awesome game is. BF2 for PC is still the greatest game ever, the squad and teamwork with layers of combat occuring from spotters/snipers/ land troops, armored combat on the ground, and helicopters, and jets above is insanely fun.

This is true, 64 player is a great experience. It can also be the most spammy, horrible, spawn raping experience ever if the game isn't balanced & the map is too small/not well designed.
I don't think more people in game makes the game better, just more chaotic. You sure are right about the graphics & teamwork though. I love the BF2 gameplay & the BC2 look, hope this melds the two nicely together.

I will laugh at the 1000s of dollars you will spend to get a PC to play the game to fullest.

Well, more like 900-1000. Actually you might be able to get by with a $700 machine (as long as you buy parts and build it yourself). Perhaps not maxed out settings, but still miles better than what the consoles output.

I don't think CS and BF are in the same category.
Even then, BF1942 > BF: vietnam > BF2 > BF2142
Totally worth every single penny. Not only will it elevate the experience on BF3 but on every other game also. Plus your PC won't hang when you're playing a minigame on the side while the game loads.

Conversations like this remind me of those guys that spend thousands setting up home cinema systems and only watch films that look and sound good to feel like they've got the most out of what they've bought.
I still play a lot of older games on gamecube and xbla games. I understand things will be missing on this and it wont look as impressive as it will on pc but for me it's more about the actual game and for £40.00 , it will be good enough just like Bad Company 2 was.

I wish I could play some of the old games--tried to install Star Wars Pod Racer a while back, but it's incompatible with Windows 7
They're going to be doing a Beta next month, so it'll be back again if it's done with the alpha
