Early access to the beta has started. Anyone on here getting in? I'm already hearing that the servers are struggling. Gotta love EA.

I've watched a bit of footage. Some concerns.

The bullet damage has been buffed. It's more like CoD now. 3 or 4 bullets kills now. It's like BC2s hardcore mode. This could be an issue. A objective based game where it's super easy to die could get pretty frustrating.

Prone. I was never a fan of this idea and after watching people play, I'm even less a fan. People spend more time crawling around than standing. The bush wookies in BC2 were annoying. Imagine those same guys being able to lay down. This could be new game syndrome though. People don't know the maps or have a feel for how the game works, so they hide and lay down every time they hear gunshots. I hope that's the case anyways.

The metro map is a bad choice for the beta. It's got almost no vehicles or destructible buildings and it's loaded with choke points making the map heavily favor the defenders.

Always, just some quick thoughts.

Who knew the PS3 graphics would look so outdated? LOL!

Are we gonna be able to change sights between respawns, ala BC2?

IT looks like you can do all the same stuff you could in BC after dying. Change whatever you want.

I should say some positive things. I don't mean to sound negative. The game does look great overall.

Speaking of looks, I've seen some PS3 and 360 footage now and I'm content with how the graphics are on consoles. Not mind-blowing, but still great IMO. The movement, destructibility (what little there is on this map) and lighting are still there mostly and that glorious sound too. I like the way the movement is in particular and it appears to be smoother than BC2 in all regards.

How does it look compared to BC2, the same?

I can't give an honest opinion as I've only been able to watch streaming videos so far. Based on the HD footage I've seen for consoles, it looks considerably better than BC2 IMO. The lighting and shadowing alone. The destructibility is much improved too. It's not jus explosions that take big blocky chunks out of walls, but bullets chip away at cover in a very cool, natural looking way. The biggest thing to me though is just the way everything moves. The recoil and gun sway, the bounce and movement of the camera as you run, jump and dive. It all looks terrific.

I just think it's a bad choice for a beta map. BC2 had Arica Harbor. That was a great beta map. Los of vehicles and tons of _____ to blow up. Metro is practically infantry only and a bit cramped to boot.

It's tough to say since I'm watching them on fairly small screens, but I honestly didn't notice any real difference between the two console game plays. the general consensus was that the PS3 version looked better, but I couldnt really see it on my monitor. On a big screen, it may be more noticeable, but my concern for the 360 version is gone now.
