Hot dog is the dad of tyreals child, what I don't get is that the bones found of Hera, did she die as a child if so that's kinda sad. :(

Oh yeah, I forgot that part. About Hot Dog being the child's father. As for them finding Hera's bones 150,000 years later....yeah I hope she didn't die as a child. The size of the bones definitely looked to be those of a child her age when we last see Hera in the final episode. I'd like to think she had a long happy life with Helo and Boomer/Athena.

It's over. It's actually over. It was bittersweet watching the finale and then rewatching the Last Frakking Special replay immediately afterwards. I teared up a bit. Battlestar Galactica is the best show in the last freaking decade. I can acknowledge 24 and Lost as giants of incredibly compelling entertainment, but BSG takes the cake, runs with it, and never looks back.

I don't mind that a few plot strings were left untended to and questions unanswered, it leaves the door open to interpretation -- something that can be even more fulfilling than an actual answer. Would I have liked to know what Starbuck was? Sure, but the way it ended reminded me of the Deckard conundrum in Blade Runner.

I do however have a couple issues with the final episode, but when considering the overall quality of the ending I think I'm just nitpicking here:

*Cavill's denouement in the CIC. Really? The show sets up this great, machiavellian character and to have it end the way it did was disappointing. Maybe I just expected more conflict and overlooked how mature and elegant the scene was.

*I did not like the addendum set in New York City. So...after 150,000 years genetic deviation has left Cylon descendants without their traits? The illuminated spinal cords and the super human strength all gone? I would assume that those would be dominant traits in a Cylon/human offspring. Then there is the question of Hera. Some other members have already mentioned about her skeletal remains so I won't go into any more detail but only say that I didn't like it.

*I cannot believe, with my 20+ years of human experience, that the remaining human race could relinquish the entire fleet of starships. I found it fairly unrealistic. However, that decision did lead to Sam Anders' emotionally resonant closing arc. Wonderful.

*Those tribal humans have it comin', I feel bad for them.

*The reasoning behind setting the Centurians free is a bit fragile. If the general sci-fi rule could be put into place here, I'm sure we can expect the Centurians to come back with the intention of saving the human race by eradicating them.

*Cougar Roslin got some ass, but I didn't like her flashback sequence. The payoff at the end was weak in result.

I really enjoyed the finale and the entire series as a whole. Hate to see it end. To be honest I'd be perfectly okay if we didn't get Caprica or The Plan.

As you can probably tell.. i'm a big fan!

I can honestly say that this exceeded my expectations, and i thought it was wonderful!

One of my few complaints was the absence of Lee/Kara in the end.. but really, it made sense. And for Lee, he had lived his whole life in his fathers shadow, and with all this drama. I love that when Kara is able to let him and everyone go, and disappear.. it is also the moment he realizes he is free to be whoever he wants. free to explore, and climb mountains. I saw such happiness in his eyes, and that made me incredibly happy!

And my Bill.. sweet Bill. Bill, Laura, and the cabin. :monkey2

I actually was getting scared before i watched it. I thought of how bad it could get fraked up.. and thought about deep space nine.. and losing sisko to the freakin wormhole as a crap ending for that series with NO resolution EVER.. and i got scared.

Glad to see i had nothing to be scared of.

My favorite show is over.

I can't even explain how much it has meant to me. It will be a part of my life forever.

Goodbye, Galactica. You will be missed!

I saw one quick scene in the new Last Frakkin' Special last night with Katee Sackhoff and Dirk Benedict sitting together talking. I wonder how that conversation went.

When the show first started they had a special where for one section the two actors sat down (in a coffee shop) and talked about both being Starbuck. It's probably on-line somewhere (or an extra on one of the multiple DVD releases) so you need not wonder as you can probably find it.

Not to pick on you plasmid, but I think a lot of these are open to interpretation, gonna do my best to present my views.

I took it as a sign that Cavil cheated them out of killing him as they did the others in CIC. It was his ultimate "on my terms" moment.

Firstly, the glowing spinal cords went away mid show, not sure why you think they'd still be around. Also who is to say that the Cylons really represented a huge portion of humanity? On the subject of Hera, I don't think she died YOUNG so to say but probably had at least one child so made it to early adult hood. They did say young WOMAN not child (at least I think so.)

*I cannot believe, with my 20+ years of human experience, that the remaining human race could relinquish the entire fleet of starships. I found it fairly unrealistic. However, that decision did lead to Sam Anders' emotionally resonant closing arc. Wonderful.

I can believe it. Why keep jumping around when you have a perfectly habitable planet where you can start over? Besides.. I'm at the point where I really wouldn't miss technology should it go away because we are too dependent on it. I'm sure it wasn't all that hard.

*Those tribal humans have it comin', I feel bad for them.

I really take issue with people thinking that those from the fleet would just assert dominance and rape the native people. I would think they would be smarter than that and just integrate themselves in even if they had to appear as "gods" or "angels" promoting the "one true God."

*The reasoning behind setting the Centurians free is a bit fragile. If the general sci-fi rule could be put into place here, I'm sure we can expect the Centurians to come back with the intention of saving the human race by eradicating them.
This is totally a nitpick. :lol Never even crossed my mind.

*Cougar Roslin got some ass, but I didn't like her flashback sequence. The payoff at the end was weak in result.
The end payoff of her flashback was to show how she got to where she was. If it weren't for her date with the former student, she wouldn't have realized she should join the campaign, becoming Secretary of Education and President after the Fall of the Colonies.

I loved last nights episode. It sucks that it's the end of a great journey :monkey2 but I liked it. I thought the ending of that series was really good. Wasn't disapointed at all.

I think Starbuck disapearing was showing that Baltar was right and she was an angel. That's how I took it.

Way I took it was that Starbuck and Inner Six/Baltar were angels sent by God. I also liked the parallels of the Opera House and Galactica. The parallel of CIC being the auditorium was really great. Also, while I think about it, the hybrid WAS right. Kara did bring them all to their doom, the Cylons. Like anything religious you have to take a certain after the fact view to see where things fit in.

By George you got it! And starbuck is a angel hard to swallow considering it's religious but makes sense.

Inner Six and Inner Baltar = Their own conscience. I think Moore has already said this before.

I think poor sam will end up being the hybrid on the ship :monkey2

I think they will get Hera back at the end to her parents

kara....think they showed us last week, that's she WAS 1/2 cylon before she got all crispy. Have no answer as to what the ressurected kara is. watchtower is linked to kara's father (daniel).

I dont think they will find a new home, it will just end with them contuining their search

resolution to cylon civil war, I think cavil and his cronnies will be destroyed

Roslin will die and adama will lead the cylons/humans towards a home.

we shall see tomorrow :rock:rock:rock:rock

Well, they pretty much answered all my questions in this fantastic finale. Glad I was wrong with my predictions, the ending was Much MUCH better than anything I would have thought.

I liked it how Adama said that this "earth" has more life than the 12 colonies put together. That earth was a better fit for them than all of the 12 colonies.

I can buy starbuck as an angel, but how did she crash land on "crappy" earth then????? Oh well, a little unanswered questions is okay with me.

I want a nice long book of the history of BSG, a compendium of events in the history and backstory of the show. I'm sure we will get one eventually

I'd get that book but how about some good 1/6 figures of the characters? I can't believe no one's done them yet wtf?

Personally, not getting any real answers was a major bummer...

If starbuck was an angel....who the frak gave her a prestine Viper? God? That's a Viper from Heaven?

And what was the point of Hera.........? She ended up being pretty much just a kid with no purpose....

So, the Capricans get to our Earth, mate with the locals that makes us, all the while knowing that the 'freed' Centurians may come back again to wipe us out...anyone else felt that was lame AND not a good conclusion to that part of the storyline?

what does god like to be called? Why do I care?

BSG was awesome in seasons 1-3. Notsomuch in Season 4....

It was cool seeing the classic cylons in the finale.....

OK, why the hell does everyone kep saying th bones were Hera's??!!

You guys do know that there was a more or less ^^^^ Sapiens already on the planet when they got there and they were burying their dead.

So stop saying it's Hera!! Argh!!

And yes, now that I think about it, I'm ^^^^ing pissed about Kara. They completely copped out on her explanation!! ^^^^ing RDM!

That's a good breakdown of my nitpicks. I don't agree with a couple of them because the course of our human nature and history would edict that the remaining human populace would see more conflict while on that planet than they ever did in space. To have the world reflect ours so closely after 150,000 years would mean there would have to be similarities and overlaps of certain violent and heinous events through history. And getting rid of the starfleet is reasonable, but that was an immense amount of resources they could have harvested from.

I can see why some us think it was Hera's remains, because she was mentioned by the newscast as "Mitochondrial Eve" which could mean the progenitor of a mixed cylon/human breed. It makes sense.

And in regards to Starbuck: Is an answer really necessary?

On Starbuck yes, only because her story was so interesting and she was the main character for me. Tof course everyone had equal screen time and I don't even know if the show had a "main" character, but to me she was.

Cause no one else was the "Harbinger of Doom". Know what I'm saying??!!

Because even if they said she was an angel or some crap, that would be cool with me. But to me they hella Sopranoed her in the end.

And what was the point of Hera.........? She ended up being pretty much just a kid with no purpose....

She was obviously a missing link in human evolution. This was heavily implied if not flat out said in the last 5 minutes of the episode.

Burying their dead does not a human make.

Only question I have - What was the deal with the Blade Runner "glimmer in the eyes" thing?

Haven't heard anybody else talking about this yet. Am I crazy?

That was pretty much my take was that she was the future (I do believe Six referred to her as a "mother" so I am not sure why some of you think she died young. What would be the point?) of humankind... ie hiuman/cylon hybrids ie you and me. What a great show.
