I have actually been out of comics for about three or four years now following online usually instead of actually buying the books. I will go back into the comic shops for this one....

just out of curiosity after clicking on the newsarama link. Is the Hulk always drawn with a completely different look in a series that's supposed to be in sync?

Since I'm opposed to Stark and/or Spiderman getting their ***** kicked I should boycott this series but I think it's probably going to be cool. Well until the end issue of course then it'll probably be disappointing.

I feel this is kind of on topic as Shai started this thread. What more fitting place to ask for his return than in a Hulk thread.

Shai is this forum's Hulk. He can go on a posting rampage without thinking that leaves a path of destruction; however, at the end of the day many of us are glad he is here. Every team(forum) needs a Hulk from time-to-time otherwise life gets pretty dull.

Dave, please reinstate Shai. Thank you.

A friend pointed something out after the whole Civil War fiasco. No matter what happens in WWH, no matter what direction they take with the Initiative angle, Marvel still has a huge RESET button in play in continuity. All they have to do is bring Scarlet Witch into play and have her undo Decimation. Blam!, no more mutant extinction. Blam!, no more registration act. It would all be reset. So, I am hesitant to get my hopes up. Even if they do something cool, like set into motion an in-continuity Maestro arc, Marvel can always just wipe it away at the drop of a hat.

If not for Decimation, would the Superhero Registration Act have even been feasible? It has been hard enough getting hundreds of Super Heroes to register. How could Tony and his Feds have handled the same act if they had to contend with another 2 or 3 million mutants? I also find it hard to believe that so many Super Heroes supported the plan, when those same heroes fought against the Mutant Registration Act. Its the same thing. Oh well, I guess we really do live in different times .. but real world and fantasy alike.

P.S. And if you read X-Factor, you know they have already hinted at Decimation being reverse. Lila says, "I can't tell you the truth, because if I do, it will all go back to the way it was." That's not word for word, but it was the spirit of the message.

I kinda doubt they'll "reset" it all...they've already built up a line-up to last practically all of 2007 and I'm sure they got plans lined up.Civil War was good, I enjoyed it and it was a significant storyline within the Marvel Universe..they're not going to reset it...perhaps in a "What If?" story.

As for the Superheroes supporting it...well they all had their different reasons but if you recall, the superheroes never had to publically reveal their identities...all they had to do was register it with the government. The public reveal was to install trust in the public that they were behind the Act 100%. Tony Stark mentioned that in one of the comics.

The Mutant Registration Act eventually disappeared in the comics.I wasn't really reading comics back when it appeared but from the Wiki-article on it, it seems it just eventually faded away without any closure.

I don't really see Decimation as the "trigger" for the Superhero Registration Act. I think it's just after years and years of property damage, death, illness, etc. that was put on the "normal" human populace in Marvel's USA that they just kind of got sick of it and they wanted to at least be able to track and follow these heroes/villains in case something happened. The final straw was Nitro blowing up the schoolbus filled with children.

Just another question out of curiousity...

Do some of you know what is the purpose behind the "World War Hulk" storyline?Do you know why Hulk is waging war on Earth, nevertheless why he's even in armor?

I heard Joe Quesada lost a bet with Rob Liefeld. :monkey3

It's either that or he was a gladiator on a different planet because of the Planet Hulk storyline! :monkey3 :lol

I'm looking forward to this storyline, but like Civil War, it sounds like Marvel is going into unnecessary overdrive again:

WWH-Logo.jpg

World War Hulk prologue
World War Hulk (5 issues)
Incredible Hulk 106-109
World War Hulk: X-Men (3 issues)
World War Hulk: Gamma Corps (4 issues)
World War Hulk: Front Line

Other tie-ins:
Iron Man 19 and 20
Heroes for Hire 11-14
Avengers Initiative 4
Irredeemable Ant Man 6
Ghost Rider issue
Young Avengers one-shot

I'll probably just buy the WWH prologue, 5 issue mini and Hulk 106-109.
