the one in the picture have the screw hole cover in too deep, but if it really bothers you you can always putty it up and touch up with paint. not sure why Medicom hasn't updated their RAH bodies.

I also like the full fabric look of three zero. While the head is a little too small. The sum of its parts is superior than Medicom, for 80$ less. There was another photo of Medicom guts posted earlier from the front and his elbow was full flat joint and it looked so weird

you guys are being overly picky. there's alot more famous comics that have even worse consistency to a point you'd though they were drawn by totally different artists, which some actually were.

i don't know why newer generations of artists don't use CG to draw their comics instead, would save alot of time, and can easily convert the files into animation and consistency would be much higher .

Do you even read the manga, or is this just another armchair point of something you know nothing about?

That Medicom Guts looks freaking incredible. Is he available now and from which stores?

I know he's pricey but it's Berserk...

Just got mine...
The overall looks is good. Details are disappointing..
The small throwing knives on the chest belt - are fixed with holder. - you can't even pull them out. it's one piece
shoulder armor pieces are separated on top/bottom - looks weird when arms are raised and posed in certain ways.
most of the (should be) leather parts are just single piece pvc - I kinda knew that before getting.. just hoped it'd look better in hand..

I'd like to hear your thoughts about him.

Most of the flaws I already know of going in, but is there a way to fiddle with the shoulder armor to make them less awkward looking in poses? And lets see some more pics. How well does he hold the dragonslayer?

If you liked the previous medicom figure you'll like this.

In my eyes the Medicom Guts is pretty damn close to a perfect looking blackswordsman Guts before stepping into battle. If his arms were a tad longer and buffer he would be perfect.

O.K. Came back from a short tip.
Quick Review below:

Good:
  1. Overall proportion is great. I'd say this is more close to Anime than Manga (Graphic Novel) and probably Threezero version is closer to Manga
  2. Head sculpt is great and the size actually matches previous one (skin tone became more tan thou)
  3. Dragon Slayer : Good size and nice shape
  4. They kept eyeball movement. It actually became more natural looking than previous one. Maybe because he has only one this time :D
  5. Crossbow - while only left/right handles are articulated, overall, it looks detailed and very nice.

Bad :
  1. The throwing knives and leather (PVC) holder is molded as one piece. (C'mon...10 year old Dragon 12inch figure had this with actual metal knives..)
  2. Right side wrist joint - This should've been color to match the bandage around the wrist.
  3. Right arm screw covers Thin arms (for body mass) - specially the shoulder armor part.. (see picture below)
  4. Some armor pieces disconnected for articulation(?) (Shoulder armor- Upper arm piece, Knee armor, Ankle armor ..etc. When you bent the joint, the gap opens up in really ugly way..
  5. Some QC issue as usual. Be extra careful when you pose this guy. and have crazy glue handy. -_-;;;
  6. He is a little taller than he should be. The figure should be 12.25" - 12.3"(with shoe). This one is 13" tall! Guts is 6'-3"!

Thanks for the review man! I can deal with the non-removeable knives and with this cloak on the arms don't look like much of an issue for me. Looks like an overall very good release from Medicom.

Comment like that - is why Medicom is so spoiled like that.

As a buyer, you need to demand more & better for your money. They need to improve their thinking and quality.
After all, this is 27,050 JPY (250 USD with shipping) figure, and YOU are paying for it.

If you think the price is too high for what you get then wait for a sale or don't buy it. I have accepted what Medicom does or does not and if it's not up to par then you can always pass on it. Medicom figures usually go on sale in like 3-6 months after they are released. If you want to encourage Medicom to include more bang for the buck send them a polite email stating that you feel that a figure of this caliber should go to greater lengths in detail and accessories. I don't want this thread becoming another HT thread that every other post is about high costs and why other people should be ashamed of paying so much for a product that was cheaper years ago. Just my opinion and not an attack on you.

Oh no. You misunderstood me.
All I'm saying is that we - as a fellow collectors- should keep our standards high so that these manufacturers can be more competitive and do better jobs on making figures.

Do not lower your standards and settle for what they offer you.

Thats all I'm saying.

Cheers!

Ah I see what you're saying. At the time Medicom put their Guts up for order there was no competition, but now with the 3Zero up for order there is. And the inflames one....well I don't when our where to order that. Has there been enough fan backlash on the 3Zero facebook page to improve the head sculpts and get rid of the rubber arms?

Got my Medicom Guts this morning. Think he looks pretty amazing, but there is one small problem that bugged me - one of the screw cover things on his arm is missing. So it's just the silver screw showing lol.

Otherwise I love him. Just have him in the cloak and the Dragonslayer on his shoulder and he looks bad ass.
