Comment like that - is why Medicom is so spoiled like that.

As a buyer, you need to demand more & better for your money. They need to improve their thinking and quality.
After all, this is 27,050 JPY (250 USD with shipping) figure, and YOU are paying for it.

Relax, they're still 10x better than SSC.

Maybe that's why I don't own any SSC 12" figures yet. Prototypes & Artists samples look great, but their final product quality is not meeting my standards yet.
I do own some SSC statues thou.
I might pick up Darth Maul and Ash if they improve production quality and QC.

I can guarantee you they won't. What you see in the official photos right now, won't be what will be produced.

This is all well and nice but either Threezero, Medicom or Hot Toys needs to produce the definitive Berserk Armor Guts 1/6 figure this year. I saw the 3-d model in that threezero interview so get to it!

Hot Toys? :lol Unless the armor turned red and looked like Iron Man, they ain't even bothering with a manga line.

So true, sadly. I'm still hoping someone will tackle classic Gatchaman someday. Even a Figuarts or Figma line would be awesome. The sentinel stuff was too generic and inaccurate.

I love that idea. Belive me, I even tried my own custom a while ago.

Sadly, the license is dead (for a while) when they made live action movie.
It's funny whenever Japanese make a live action version, they end up killing the license. (they killed Cashern, they killed Gatchaman. They did OK job with Gantz, Yatterman and Kenshin, but still not that great - and also killed license)

Real magic touch, they have. :D

I'm glad people are happy with their Medicom purchases! Personally speaking after seeing the in hand photos I'm pretty happy I passed on this! Too many flaws for what is probably my favorite fictional character.

Also I have 2 medicom figures, 2 Sideshow, 2 ThreeA, and 3 Hot Toys figures. I'd rate it as

Hot Toys
ThreeA
Side Show
Medicom.

Personally Speaking Medicom just comes off as cheap to me. More like the classic GI-Joe figures from back in the day than a high price collectors item. They're good, and I'm happy to buy from their lines... when there are no other options.

I guess it just comes down to what you're looking for in a figure. I like as little plastic as possible where possible. In this case I like that the ThreeA Guts Has cloth wraps on his hands and Dragon Slayer.I like that his arms are pretty beefy.

Overall (to me at least) Medicom Guts just looks too much like a "toy" (yes, yes I know they all are technically) but I already have Art of War Guts for that type of figure.

2 cents deposited.

All the in hand shots of the Medicom look excellent, like right off a manga panel. Threezero's is going to have to stay in arms straight pose since they stupidly went with rubber arms. They will rip open, guaranteed. I wish the Inflames went up for order.

the originals ended long before. you expect something like Spiderman where they let 10 artists do their own versions of spiderman? doesn't work that way in japan.

Look at RE4 Leon. He was about $150 and came with a ton of stuff.

video game license are cheaper than Hollywood, and you don't pay to both licensor & actor/actress. most likely they upped the license fee after seeing how well the products are selling, also take into account increased material cost/transport/wage it's no surprise. you can see it's the same all over the industry, i don't think Sideshow upped their price just to match Hot Toys. and even for Ironman might look simple, but there's alot of detail to be sculpt on the armor, figures weren't that detailed back when it's still $150. Video game figures probably $200 now which is around 3% inflation per year. But Leon's gun came with spring action which is non-existence in today's Hot Toys.

may we know which 2 Medicom Figures you have? coz older ones do look G.I Joe but not the recent past 10 years.

you should look into 1000toys.

i would rate VTS higher than 3A. 3A sculpts are pretty basic & simple, only thing stands out is the paint & weathering effects.

I have Skyward Sword Link and MGS Tiger Stripe Camo Naked Snake. Like I said they're not terrible at all. Just inferior when compared to the other companies doing 1/6 scale figures. I always hear that Medicom does amazing Anime figures, but I look at Captain Harlock and Raiden by Hot Toys and to me those are anime characters. I feel like if Hot Toys did a Guts their face sculpt would be a million times better than anything I've seen come out of Medicom.

I mean they have some licensing going after their initial series is done.
Look at Go Nagai's Mazinger series - It goes on and going still strong - manga revival, anime revival, games, product renewal..etc
On the other hand,
Look at GoNagai's Devilman or Cutie Honey - It was going pretty strong - manga revival, anime revival, product renewal..etc - until some idiot decided to make a live action version movie. And that was it. It left bad sales track record, and nobody wanted to touch it for a long time.

Gatchaman is a unique case. Many license with Tatsunoko production is somewhat the same way (Gatchaman, Cashern, Yatterman, Speedracer..etc) . Each title had some good values and good chance of revival in Anime or Manga form - which can lead to more toy/product line.
But No... Another idiot decided to make live action movie. And that was it. It left bad sales track record, and nobody wanted to touch it for a long time.

Does it make sense now?

That's hilarious. How can you rate anything, when you don't even have a single action figure? Do you even read Berserk, or this just another thread, where you spew arm-chair knowledge without knowing anything about a series?

And he won't acknowledge your post, like he never does any of mine when I call him out.
