I think it's nearing the final act. Casca will get her memory back soon, Griffith has his kingdom, the god hand are revived, and the world has gone to ****. The only thing left is for Guts to get his revenge and kill Griffith. Do I have that right, or do you guys think there's more? I want more berserk for sure, but I also want to see a conclusion to the story. I'm curious about how Skull Knight will fit into the final act. I honestly think Guts will use the sword of actuation to kill Griffith. I don't think anything else will work on him. He's obviously afraid of it. He noped out of the way and let it kill ganishka instead.

And also, I read an interview recently that said Griffith will soon come to terms with becoming a demon... I wonder what that means. But honestly, I want to see the God Hand die and the vacuum effect that will be left behind. I'm really curious how he will end the story.

Luckily for me, I've only been into Berserk for about 3 months now, so the wait hasn't been excruciating for me as it has been for a lot of fans.

I've read the manga about four times. Miura said that it won't end darkly, so it will probably have a bittersweet ending. I assume Guts won't kill Griffith. Guts' Behelit will definitely come into play and maybe that will end up being the catalyst for Griffith's demise... somehow.

Hmm could be interesting. But after everything Griffith has done, him dying would be a happy ending lol. I forgot about Guts' behelit.. When did he get that?

I hope Guts doesn't die in the end I see Casca betraying Guts heard a while ago it's about 70% done

That could happen but she's obsessed with him if she gets her memory who knows what would happen she's loyal to him .

He took it from the Count.

Let's hope so.

Oh that was early on. I'm going to reread the manga soon to brush up on some finer details. And yes, I've seen pics of Guts and he doesn't seem to have any issue so far.

Casca would probably be the one to end Griffith.

I'd be fine with this. She worshipped him, he broke her, and she finishes him off. Griffith wouldn't see it coming and I can't wait to see the look on his face when he realizes what's happening. Though I think it will be Guts pushing Griffith to the limit, and then Casca deals the finishing blow.

Have you read the 'lost chapter' of Berserk by any chance, KerotanFrog? It opens up your eyes to a lot of things in the series, especially the whole theme of causality.

With the way things are going, and considering time flows differently on Elfhelm than the outside world, I wouldn't be surprised if a time skip takes place with all our heroes slightly older and more experienced. I don't know if Griffith will attack the island beforehand but I do know he has unknown plans for something sinister for mankind... and the moonlight child will play a part in his downfall in some way.

But before the series ends, Miura must give us a backstory of Gaiseric's old empire and the God Hand. Heck, they way Miura did Ganishka's backstory was short and precise that it was perfect - so similar treatment for all members of the God Hand could work.

Also shed some light on the mystery of the eclipse that destroyed Gaiseric's kingdom - it is already hinted that Void was the holy man imprisoned and tortured by Gaiseric who then called upon angels. Whether or not that hints at (if we're to believe Void was the first) previous members existing, is what I've spent the last six years theorizing for hours on end. Berserk has an incredibly deep lore and story.

It could go that way, but seeing how he did to her what her saved her from as a child... I dunno. I'd think she would feel betrayed and angry. I mean, it broke her mind so I'd imagine she'd be even more vengeful than Guts. Especially given she was with the Band of the Hawk even longer.

I just thought of this as well. Someone (SK?) told Guts when Casca regains her memory, he might not be happy in the end. Though I think her loyalty to Griffith is gone, especially after the eclipse. And she loved Guts, not Griffith, prior to losing her mind.

No I don't think I have. Was that the one Miura wanted out of print because it gave too much of the story away?

Yes I really want backstory on Gaiseric and the God Hand. It would probably flesh those characters out a lot, and it would be cool to see what the circumstances were to them choosing the eclipse. And I also thought Void was the holy man imprisoned. And isn't it pretty obvious that Skull Knight is Gaiseric? I want to know what happened to him as well. Damn this story will prob go on another 10 years...

Trying to ignore the spoilers.....

An update on my reading: I think I'm on volume 7 or 8 atm. Skipping the first two volumes helped me get into it a bit easier. I'm currently entertained but not blown away. I still don't fully understand the hype, but maybe it will get better.

Also, I much prefer the character development/interactions over the long, drawn out fight scenes. They're a bit too "shonen-y" for my tastes. "Grrrr I must become stronger and accomplish my manly dream!"

Volume 13 is life changing.

Yeah that's the one. He felt it revealed a bit too much and wanted to leave 'it' a bit more vague, so he requested it not to be published in the volumes. It occurs during volume 13, give it a read if you haven't.

The thing is, even though the chapter was removed, the Idea of Evil itself was shown at the end of the previous chapter where Griffith is floating through all those Behelits and basically mutters "God?" on the last page. Some have considered it not to be canon due to its removal, however this is not quite the case as it has been referenced and hinted at later on. Flora basically alludes its existence in volume 24. I can find the panels if your memory is vague - very fascinating stuff.

Oh, and you'd be surprised how many just aren't with the notion that Gaiseric is the Skull Knight, despite the writing being clear as day on the wall. Some even think Gaiseric is actually Zodd or Guts' father... I have no idea how one comes to that theory. :lol
