I have to agree with those who say that one of Sideshow's biggest weaknesses is with the details.
Ok, so they're not $500 pieces where at that price I'd expect absolute perfection, but at the same time, it's hard to see why some things that seem pretty easy to get right get overlooked. Paint jobs like customizers here do? I can see where that would be difficult to pull off at this price point.
But for clothing, you only have to do it once, right? Create the pieces, create the patterns, and let the producers go away. So its hard for me to understand the problems like this collar. Or Han's jacket. Or overly thin tabbards on Jedi (Qui-Gon), or overly-short tabbards on Jedi (Anakin).
One thing I'll be interested is how the jacket fits without the tank top. I think he looks great from the waist down but above, he looks too bulky to me.

I'm hoping these latest pictures arent doing the headsculpt justice because I'm just not seeing Mark Hammil, sorry guys. There are also the jacket issues, which hopefully will be corrected, and the boots look too bulky.
I'll still probably get the regular because, lets face it, this will be the best 1/6 Bespin Luke we ever get.
The pictures AREN'T doing the head sculpt justice. I was at Comic-Con and I must say it is the best Luke sculpt yet. And better yet he doesn't have that akward expression Jedi Luke had. This is Sideshow's best Luke so far. The only thing that could ruin it would be terrible factor paint, same goes for Old Ben.

I don't want multiples of any character and that's why I cancelled my order for ANH Leia. However, Bespin Luke looked so good in person at SDCC that I ordered one anyway, even though I have Jedi Luke already.

I didn't make assertions as to the motive for the original $50 price point, but you just confirmed for me that indeed we probably aren't going to see it again. Thanks for the affirmation of that. That seems to support the credibility of what I'm saying, that indeed prices rose.
Also, I guarantee I support more things with SSC than I don't. After all, I am a customer. You just choose to remember my negative comments because your head is in the clouds and you want to be perceived a certain way around here and by the SSC employees.
I, personally, don't consider ignoring the facts by putting on rose colored glasses to be very credible, but I can certainly see how it may make someone more liked. But that has nothing to do with credibility and being right or wrong does it?
If someone I knew wanted a "credible" review of a SSC figure you'd be the last person I'd send them to.
I am looking at my Yavin Luke right this second and I am measuring his arms vs. Jedi Luke... and the results are.... Yavin Luke's arms are shorter by 1/4 of an inch.
If you see Monkey arms, it is trick your own eyes (and expectations maybe?) are playing on you.

Can you post a pick of Yavin Luke's arms hanging down? Here is my pic, but it is not the best example because his hands are hidden behind his back, though you can kinda see their length.
Here is the real thing. You can notice that the cuff of the arm is barely below the bottom of the jacket. In my pic, despite the fact they are bent and behind his back, already exceed this. Once a pic is posted with the hands to the side it will be quite obvious.

Rose Colored glasses? I guess but its better than the shat colored ones you wear. I'm usually right so its all good. How are my reviews not credible? It's my opinion of a figure. Same as anyone else who reviews them.

on a very obvious blunder. No offense directed to you as I didnt know that the jacket info had been positively sourced.
Actually I admire your skills and craftsmanship but some of us have a real "Love/Hate" relationship with Sideshow.

However my joy is tempered by the fact that Sideshow gets more things wrong then they ought for the prices

The initial point was that they will never go back to $50. You came back to say that prices went up because such and such reason. I said the reason the price went up is irrelevent to the fact the price went up. So you come back with this?

Josh's opinion is credible in so much that it represents what he thinks - which is really all an opinion is. This is a discussion thread as well. So don't feel like Josh is "swooping" down on your comments. He is merely discussing them. Thats what we are all here for.
Really I think Josh has an unfair reputation for being a blind "follower" of Sideshow - almost like Sideshow was a religion or a political party. He is merely a guy who really loves what they do. There is nothing wrong with that. I have seen him criticize them as well from time to time. If he sees something wrong, he will say it.
