There have been plenty of items I did not care for.
Whoa! Easy there Josh. There's no need to talk about Sideshow stuff like that.

Thanks for the explanation and that does help confirm much of what I suspected. I really appreciate it.Anyway, I hope this answered some of your questions. If not, you can PM me and I'll be happy to talk more about.
I took the liberty of "painting" Andy's Luke.
I think the head they used looks fantastic, much better than the one I did...
Well since the preorder date has come and gone for this guy I guess it's safe to post this... When this figure was first in development I had the original honors of sculpting the portrait. My portrait underwent a barrage of revisions at Lucasfilm's request, and ultimately was scrapped I believe. I *think* the portrait was attempted by no less than 3 separate people, I'm not sure who's work graces the final figure seen above. I think the head they used looks fantastic, much better than the one I did... I think mine is actually more of a caricature, and the hairstyle is too wind-swept and not enough "combed by my mom for my school portrait" style that Luke adorned during that part of the film.
Anyway, enough borng commentary... Here's some shots of the Bespin Luke that never was (fortunate for us)...
Too bad they didn't do it as an exclusive alternate portrait like Ventress. Then we could have Bespin Luke or Dagobah Luke.
How's this? (I animated it to emphasize the changes)

Gee whiz, I'm glad you all like the portrait so much!
I should clarify something though... The reason this sculpt got scrapped has nothing to do with SSC, it's all a result of Lucasfilm. In fact, I believe SSC was happy with my very first submission for this guy, if it was only up to them many of the final figures would often look quite different (that goes for many different licenses). I think I revised this portrait 2-3 times, and each time was shot down by LF. Beyond that point I was no longer working for Sideshow so I don't know the rest of the story... But as I said, I think the final sculpt they used is just terrific, kudos to whomever did it!
There is a small team of drones in the LFL Licensing department that like to push their weight around.Andy, who specifically at LFL reviews the sculpts? Does Lucas himself have the final say? Do the actors have any input? I'm still perplexed why your amazing sculpt would get scrapped?
