No point in voting on the best until Avatar and The Lovely Bones come out. Though my money's on Bones. The worst I've seen so far was definitely TF2.

Best: Hrrm. Tie between Star Trek and Watchmen (Ultimate Edition).

Worst: Observe and Report (which should win an award for LEAST likable leading character in a film EVER. And I've loved most of Seth Rogan's other work. This was pure garbage. Sure, I laughed here and there, but about half way through I wanted the "hero" to fail. Miserably.)

I had such high hopes for Transformers 2, but it has been relegated to my "so painfully bad it's good" list, which is not at all the same as "best movie of the year." :lol G.I. Joe was an insult to long time fans, but I could tolerate it as a mindless action flick. It has its moments.

I never got around to seeing Inglorious Basterds, but judging by this thread I probably should just blindly buy the blu-ray when it comes out soon.

Best: Hurt Locker, Inglourious Basterds, Star Trek

But there are tons of movies that haven't come out. I expect to like:
Sherlock Holmes, Avatar, Nine, Up in the Air, Doctor Parnassus, Lovely Bones,

Worst: Observe and Report (which should win an award for LEAST likable leading character in a film EVER. And I've loved most of Seth Rogan's other work. This was pure garbage. Sure, I laughed here and there, but about half way through I wanted the "hero" to fail. Miserably.)

:lecture Thats def my runner up for worst, followed by the final destination.

For movies I've seen:

Best: Star Trek and/or Inglorious Basterds

Worst: Paranormal Activity
(although I suspect if I ever saw GI-Joe it would take the top honors)

Best MOvie of 2009 District 9 baby, THe Hurt Locker

Worst Movie of 2009 Funny that this year produced plenty of horrible movies. My picks are Halloween 2, 2012, The Unborn,

Funny seeing all the love for Star Trek. Thought the movie was good, but all the plot holes it has drops to for me.

Yea, I've yet to hear an actual plot hole in ST - more often it's the viewer not getting something.

I was going to pick Paranormal Activity just to get everyone all excited :D but I'd say Trek is number 1. Up was awfully good too, though, as was District 9.

Worst? That's tough. I didn't see any real stinkers this year. Beverly Hills Chihuaha was God awful, but I think that actually came out in theaters in 08. Wolverine was pretty weak as well, and 9 didn't do a lot for me, but they were more in the most mediocre of the year category than worst.

My two biggest disappointments this year were Fanboys and Big Man Japan, neither of which lived up to my expectations.
