I use Kaspersky and have never had a problem i think it's great.

Anyone have a suggestion as to the best Virus Protection software to buy for a computer. I already have Adware for the spyware, but I don't have a clue which virus protection to buy.

The important thing is to use an anti-virus in the first place... most experts will tell you that most of the major ones are about the same. Having said that, see below...

Does anybody know if Avast is good?!

Avast is one of the top rated free anti-virus programs, and is on par with the paid ones like Symantec, McAfee, etc.

I had been a long time McAfee user (many, many years) and recently switched to Avast on my home computer because McAfee has become such a resource hog that it was slowing down every aspect of my computing experience. I highly recommend Avast.

I have NEVER had a problem with my mac. Switched six months ago, and I haz a happy. My girlfriend was a staunch PC user until hers broke down and she was forced to use my Mac. Now... she has a mac too. Aww..

Word on the net or behind the net (underground) is that there is a major initiative aimed at Mac's coming in the very near future. Now that they are gaining popularity they have caught the eye of many hackers. Just wanted to let you guys know.

Best protection against virus' is multi layered firewall technology. A serious of virus scan software stored on an external drive, regular back ups, and common sense. OR become a hacker. :D

I have used so many antivirus programs and none come close to:

NOD32 !!!

guys being using it for 3 years now and it's an amazing antivirus.
give it a try !

Perfect for Gaming computers. It dosent use your Computer Resources as much as other anti virus programs.

Guess what?

Macs have their very OWN Virus' :)

I've worked on a Mac for the past 14 years on pretty much a daily basis...
I've NEVER had a virus on any of the Macs I've used...
That includes Power PC 6100, 6200, iMac G3, Yosemite Power PC G3,
Power Mac G4, PowerBook G4, Power Mac G5, MacMini, MacPro g5, and a MacPro Dual....

Yet another reason why I hate PC and MAC FTW peeps.

U want power without hype, without $$$$ because it has a "i" in front of it, most resource for the bang of the buck sons...

Software development engineering for 15+, I've seen and felt nothing run as smooth and this is ver 7 it's on 9 by now.
