^ Black insulation tape? Easy fix.
I went with the black cabinet because I felt it would look better at night and the lights would really make the pieces pop. The only thing I didn't like is that the wires for the lights doing come in black. That would have been perfect. I thought about many different solutions to make them less visible (paint the wires black, run them through a black tubing, etc.) but in the end, I just left them. I drilled holes in the back siding and fed the wires through there. I wish I took a picture of the back before I put the cabinet in place. I've got velcro that straps down the wires from the hole (so the wire is tight and doesn't hang all loose inside the compartment) and I've got all those battery packs secured to the middle post in the back.
Everything looks pretty sweet now. Problem will be when Batman PF arrives and it doesn't fit in the 23.5" compartment. I don't really want to adjust the shelving space.

would that be hard to get to when you need to change out the batteries?
I got my PF all in detolf. kinda thinking of getting Bestas but the $$ must be used for PF rather than other display cabinets lol
Also I wouldn't like to put too much weight on a Detolf shelf.
Isn't the shelf height around 15" on a Detolf? Not many PF's that would fit in that space.
Do you have 2 PF's per cabinet?

2 PF per detolf is what I have right now.
each shelf I believes holds about 30-35lbs.
my only scare at the moment is Colossuss. lol.
I am thinking to put him above the detolf tonight and put wolverine or rogue or both of them together in his place.

I just can't seem to find the "lull" in collectables to invest in display cases. There's always a new statue to buy before a besta.
sneak peak of my setup... still building stuff!
I disagree, mirrors provide twice the viewing angles and more illumination.i wouldnt add mirror back, they may sound like a good idea but it actually detracts from the viewing due to all the reflections especially with another glass door in front.
This I will agree on but not being able to take photos is insignificant and the extra cost is worth it imo. It's also impossible to take photos and cost more money.
With or without a mirror backing, a besta will never look classy.Just regular besta with a lighting on the statue looks much more classy and elegant.

I know but I'm okay with spending more on decent display cabinets because Ikea is so ****ing overpriced in South Australia. A detolf, for example, is $169 rrp. How ridiculous is that? The only reason I ever visit there is it's just down the road from my house. But I completely understand collectors from other parts of the world shopping at Ikea, the quality can actually be justified by the low cost.Well if u want classy my friend u need to pay at least double the money. I have asked for a custom made and beleve me , if u want the complete package , lights, mirrors, glass doors, so it all comes down to money

Please do upload ur pictures. All ideas will be gr8 , to see, as I said before i just bought one single white Besta and moving on to the second one. I would love to see how the back mirror will look.By saying 1 half and one full depth glass shelf w d u mean? Can u put Ikeas page on that??I do strongly believe that depending on what you display, a black, white or mirror interior Besta can all be the best choice in its own way. You don't even have to guess, just look through this and the show off section and there are so many beautiful examples where the Besta look super classy and something I only figured out after my purchase here is that those tombo doors really is the key to the classy look... I am going to unload my glass doors soon to migrate to them
My choice would be:
Black - horror, dark theme, more white neutral pieces, museum style
White - more superhero, colourful figures
Mirror - want to be able to show off the back as well. oh my wife's crystals, anything that benefits from play with light
btw the mirror kit is a great deal as it also incl 1 half and one full depth glass shelf which on their own runs more than half the kit's price
