BESTA love and idea thread

I do strongly believe that depending on what you display, a black, white or mirror interior Besta can all be the best choice in its own way. You don't even have to guess, just look through this and the show off section and there are so many beautiful examples where the Besta look super classy and something I only figured out after my purchase here is that those tombo doors really is the key to the classy look... I am going to unload my glass doors soon to migrate to them
My choice would be:
Black - horror, dark theme, more white neutral pieces, museum style
White - more superhero, colourful figures
Mirror - want to be able to show off the back as well. oh my wife's crystals, anything that benefits from play with light

btw the mirror kit is a great deal as it also incl 1 half and one full depth glass shelf which on their own runs more than half the kit's price

I am still researching this thread trying to figure out the best route to go for my display. I was wondering what you guys use from Ikea to display Cinemaquette statues?

I also have a Legend Lord Darkness life size bust that I cannot imagine a way to display in any type of enclosed case.......

you need this, i have decided to abandon besta after much thought & planning and just get another wider pax, that takes up less space and fits a lot more.

The thing with besta is you really cant put too many statues in there, 2 per box and i cant find a good glass door that looks good.

Pax is 23" depth and 33" tall, you can fit pretty much anything in there short of life size...

Dude I am just going to ask ... roughly how much did this cost you ... and where did you get the clear glass from. Everytime I look at a Pax with sliding doors it is crazy expensive over a Besta

The thing is that u can only get the sliding doors if u get at least the 150cm width, and i only have 120cm of space.

Does anyone KNOW if these have removable feet??? I only ask because the shortest Pax is a shade tall for the space I WANTED to put them in. There is a great spot, but there is a bulkhead in the way...lo.

Hi Spidey. Been at IKEAS this Saturday. Didnt see any PAX's with removable feet. One thing for sure is they are much bigger than Bestas.Due to space am going for the smaller one with 100cmx236tall. Only thing am gonna have to make is custom doors

I am considering getting a 150cm x 66 cm x 201cm one. It it about $500, but I may build it slowly. Shell, and a few shelves, then the doors which are the most expensive. This option will hold more statues the a double Besta with a decent height. Maybe even as much as 10 more statues.

I wall mounted my Besta and I'm trying to figure out the best way to run the lighting. The only way I can figure to run the wires would be to drill a small hole in the bottom and either basically rounding off the corner of the half-shelf inside or drilling another hole through that.

Anybody else have any other ideas? It sits flush against the wall so just running a hole out of the back isn't really an option.

The feet are hidden underneath the base so you can't actually see them. it's pretty much the same height without them because the sides go to the floor.

I'm not sure if this had been mentioned yet, but the Besta vassbo glass doors are now on sale at Ikea. It's very possible that they may be discontinued soon and they are trying selling the rest off at a discount, that's my guess anyway. The triple version is only $35, that's barely $10 bucks per panel, a steal if you ask me.

They are still FULL price up here in Canada so I don't know if they are being discontinued or not. It does make me wish there was an American Ikea closer to the boarder where I am though.

I have a couple beech effect Besta shelves and was considering getting the Vassbo doors since they are discounted right now. Does anyone know if the black-brown or white border Vassbos would look better with the beech or would these both clash pretty bad?

Actually, I may have been wrong. I was at my local IKEA and ALL of the Vassabo doors were marked as LAST CHANCE. Now an employee said that they could simply be renumbering the product, but I have no idea.
