Also just found out that Dean Norris played Tony in Total Recall, as well as the SWAT leader in T2. He was also in Starship Troopers.

I watched TR again a few months back and recognized him by his voice. Never really paid much attention to him until Breaking Bad, but he's been around for a long time.

The opening scenes, courtesy of James Poniewozik, in the latest issue of Time. A synopsis -

The show opens up, in black and white and no dialogue, with Saul, going by "Gene," managing a Cinnabon at a mall in Omaha. He goes home, mixes a drink and pops in a VHS tape featuring a reel of his BCS commercials. We get a flashback, in color, of Saul in a courthouse men's restroom in 2002, rehearsing his defense of three young punks. Known as Jimmy McGill, he doesn't have a lot of money and he's a sleazy guy, but he's no criminal. He eventually meets up with two scam artists and a white collar criminal and he cooks up a scheme.

I have mixed feelings about this. I'm going to do the same with this as I did with Breaking Bad, wait it out to see if it's worth it.

Man oh man, that episode was fantastic. The opening black and white teaser with him working at the Cinnabon, Jimmy down in in his luck, the skaters and scamming, THAT ending with you know who.

Great stuff. This is how a "prequel" is done.

Which ones (aside from the cameos)? :)

I can't remember...but I saw few. :lol Wasn't the nail salon where Jimmy (Saul) has his office the same place he wanted Jesse Pinkman to buy to laundry the money? Also, when Saul goes to see the lawyers he sees the metallic trash can with dent on it, similar to when Walter White goes to see the Doctor and he sees a dent on the metallic hand dryer.

Loyola's Cafe is on the other side of my Dad's work: Ron Peterson's Guns. You can see their store in the window.
Quick geography lesson: Betsy's house looks to be in the foothills of Sandia Heights. The scene of the accident happens on 7th and Tijeras which is in downtown Albuquerque. They're at least a 30 minute drive from each other on a good day. I know it's trivial, but still interesting to note. Oh, btw, my sister lives a block from the car wash. I live about 1/2 mile from the high school they used for the classroom scenes in BB.

What city is it?

Also, the opening black & white, that's his "new identity" following the events of Breaking Bad?
