Hurrr durr derka durr. You're still wrong though. In all seriousness. Nolan's series will not age will. It will be stuck forever in 2008 and 2012.v

That's your opinion, an opinion that many people would disgree with. The funniest part about this debate is that I think both trilogies are equal.

That's not at all, in anyway shape or form, what I was saying.

I know, that's what I'm saying.

The best thing about Bane is how lolzy and meme worthy the character is, from his appearance to his speech and lines. The internet had fun ripping on how awful the character was so it made him infamous.

That's not saying much.

And I live for you to lolzy and meme him. :rotfl

My point was, the Nolan films aren't timeless because they use the time they were filmed as their set time period. They used political relevance in the plots, and realistic technology set to our time period.

Star Wars does not. It has no time period.

Therefore...Star Wars is timeless, and the Nolan films aren't.

You took it as the Nolan films were terrible. Which I did not say. I just said they won't hold that much time relevance years from now.

Raimi's Spiderman is even more dated than Nolan's batman and that doesn't stop you from always having a nerd H'on for it :lol:lol:lol

Seriously Spiderman had this freaking thing on it:

doesn't get more dated than that :rotfl
Oh and don't forget about this little gem:

:mwaha:mwaha:mwaha

now I am not defending Batman over Star wars because Rises is one of the most disappointing movies I've ever seen so I think star wars is better.
I think star wars is more epic and more enjoyable to watch than Nolan's batman, they are more fun to watch basically. Luke is more likable than Bruce and Vader is a better villain than almost everyone batman fought.
Star wars overall had more likable characters and better badasses. with Batman you only have a handful of people you can relate to or like.

but the "being dated" argument could be made for Spiderman and how the Reboot is better because is not going to be as dated as the originals. I'm just saying just because Batman will be dated in a couple of years doesn't mean it will still be amazing, at least Dark Knight will be one of the best superhero movies of all time. Now and in 20 years.

Not what I meant.

Nolan is so grounded in the year it's made that the film's themes won't resinate as well with future generations.

Spider-Man, once again, uses human experiences that most people will go through, and any kid, in any generation, unless **** drastically changed, will go through.

So shut up.

Yes, I know what your point was. You've been saying the same thing over and over for 3 pages now. I get it.

No, I did not take it as the Nolan films are terrible. You never said that. You just think I took it that way. By your definition almost every trilogy can't hold up to Star Wars. Everything will be dated eventually, but that doesn't mean that they are any less timeless to me. Look at T2 or Indy 3, they are still great films loved by many people.

You're probably right about future generations though. People are getting more dumb as time goes on. Many people in this generation think Twilight is better than Star Wars.

See that? Got MY point across and I didn't have to insult YOU.

So shut up.

:lol that might be true but spiderman is so 2000s. is not even that old and it could even pass for a 90s movie.

That is true about Batman but doesn't mean the movies will still hold their own 10-20 years from now. just because they wont resinate with future generations doesn't mean it won't be praised and talked about.

Iron Man could be said to be "so grounded in the year it's made that the film's themes won't resinate as well with future generations. " but It still (like batman) will be praised for how good it is. Good movies are timeless even if they are grounded on a particular year.

How is Batman "dated"? This character has been around since, what, the 1940s? Good vs evil will never be dated, because this struggle will never end. If Batman's so dated how does he keep getting movies?

Of course it's dated, the first film is a decade old. :lol

Macy Gray? The "Hero" song? That's like .00001 of the film. :lol

This captures the spirit of those films more than your patronizing post,

no Celtic is saying that Nolan's batman movies are too grounded on the years they were made and the subjects they are dealing with can only resonate with us and not with future generations. Not batman in general but Nolan's batman in particular.

:exactly::goodpost:

Nolan's Batman is just as much about Good Vs Evil as Star Wars is.
