Rook was primarily a puppet with some cgi enhancements to the eyes and mouth, I thought it worked pretty well and the voice was spot on.

Yeah they *really* nailed the voice. I watched the original ALIEN and Romulus back to back not too long ago and it really did feel like the same character (or droid model/whatever you want to call it.)

I fully agree; it did enough, and the voice was perfect. The mouth movements and the uncanny valley are still there after the tweaks. I thought the improvements might have been somewhat better.
