I'm more interested that Raimi is involved.... and more concerned that Raimi might bring in multiverse garbage.
I'll wait and see.
I'll wait and see.
....but...the title of the movie....
I hope they upgrade Dr. Strange's costume and powers.
Agreed. I get why they went with the monk-like look, but I've gotten tired of it. Strange should be regal, as you said. That was always one of the things that differentiated him from other characters. He was older, wiser and that was reflected in his attire and tastes. I'm still holding out hope for something more streamlined and "formal", but dunno what they're going to do. But I fear that we'll be stuck with what we've got, with maybe some minor cosmetic changes to justify new toys. Which is a shame, since the Cloak itself is a letdown. He had the gloves in Thor 3 and they looked great. However, I just want a sleeker look like that fan art you posted. No more wraps around the legs and arms, those awful tactical rubber boots that every MCU character wears for some reason (even Thanos), that awful picnic table blanket looking cape, and all those unnecessary monk like layers of clothing. He should look classier and regal. He's got magic too, so he could easily change his costume into anything that he wants.
As far as his powers, I want to see him use TK, reality warping, and more energy projection. Enough with the little circles and whips.

My main problem is that it all looks too "makeshift". Straps upon belts upon flaps upon strings. It feels less like a ceremonial sort of costume and more like a random guy from Fantasy-Land who put on a cloak. Strange should be the Level Cap Sorcerer, not an NPC-Tier Magician. Honestly, it's a shame that all those characters like Strange, Doom and Fate never get their poper looks, when they're so cool with their capes and symbols and ornates and stuff.
IW was a step in the right direction, but we need more of the things he did against Thanos and less of the generic energy constructs.
I agree. I didn't mind the outfit in the first film because he was still a student and far from sorcerer supreme, but now, I expect some upgrades. Thor has evolved somewhat, so my hope is that Strange will have a similar evolution.
Sure, but Dormammu was always unique in that he gathered matter onto himself and became a material being. Plus, he's a pretty down to Earth character. He hates and loves his Stacy sister and wants to conquer the cosmos because he feels empty inside. There's a bit of Lore in the Dark Dimension, and you can do a lot of stuff with him as a straight-up Conqueror. He's basically Magic Kang.Well, Dormammu was in his true form in the first film,
I doubt it at this point. The first film completely wasted him. To be honest, it wasted a LOT of people. Dormammu was a minimal role, Mads absolutely got the sort end of the stick with such a role, Mordo got racebent and had his character changed completely, Rachel McAdams' hot ass got a bit role and Michael Struhlbarg got two minutes of screentime. But at least Strange, Tilda and Wong were good.but he can always come back in his out of the dark dimension form.
No-Killing is just stupid when your role is literally PROTECTOR OF THE COSMOS. As for Tony, it really does come off as Strange basically talked him into an heroing. The no killing thing is stupid, but he kind of let Tony die in EG and kept it a secret. That's pretty shady.
I hope they upgrade Dr. Strange's costume and powers.
