Thanks so much everyone!

Many thanks to all the awesome customizers that made their version of these 1/6 scale characters to prove that it was possible. And immense gratitude to Ace. I plan To replace the shoulder armor with smaller versions then I can think of these as finished.

To express the magnitude of how much the compliments mean to me I?ll share this.

But to tell this story, I can?t just start at chapter 4.

As my boss told me we all have personal problems.

A long time ago in a state far far away, My boss asked me if I would be willing to relocate to Texas. He was aware that my wife?s family was getting sick a lot more frequently and Texas trips accounted for about 30% of my business travel. Of course, my wife loved the idea to return home to Texas. However, I was extremely busy at work for months and on business travel and didn?t have much time for house-hunting. Then I started getting reminded from my boss that it was taking a very long time to get moved. And on top of this my father-in-law was going into the hospital much more often. My wife and I feel that we rushed to find a house. We took comfort that we got a home warranty to cover the unexpected. However the seller did not negotiate as much as I requested after reading the problems with the house. As my father-in-law went into the hospital again I realized we will just have to deal with whatever problems the house gives us.

I could probably write a book on all the problems that we?ve had with this house. The day after we closed on the house, I started fixing toilets, replacing faucets, fixing sinks, fixing electrical issues, troubleshooting the air condition system and the refrigerator and the freezer and so much more. We fought with the home warranty people for two months trying to get them to fix the air condition. It was up to 92? in the house after working long hours at work. We had to repair everything ourselves because the home warranty people would not give in. They said it was all pre-existing conditions and the house was built so poorly. The repairs became more than we could keep up with and I had to do research to find a contractor. And because the house would flood whenever it would rain, I had to pay someone to fix that problem too. That guy took our money and disappeared. The contractor that?s doing the construction is about three months behind schedule because they have other projects and ours is not a priority. Different contractors we interviewed told us the house was built so badly we should get an attorney.

As I would ask for time off from work, The boss would tell me all of this was taking entirely too long.

I kept trying to be positive and deal with each problem that continued to pile up. There is a phrase... at least I have my health.

While working on the house, I hurt my shoulders which felt like the torn rotator cuff that I had a few years ago. After many weeks, my wife insisted I go to the doctor. That started a whole sequence of testing, including multiple MRI, PET scan, x-rays, etc.

Then my father-in-law died.

Days later, I was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer in my lymph nodes and bones. Although I?m leaping right to acceptance, I am a little bit surprised, Considering my clean living. I don?t drink, I don?t smoke, floss daily, brush daily, walk frequently, and generally lead what some would call a very boring life.

I started chemotherapy this past weekend because they tell me there?s a chance of recovery. I suspect many of you have experienced this or your relatives have experience this. And I?m very sorry for that.

Thanks For reading this.

As much as I can, I?m gonna work on my characters which really takes my mind off of some of the bad stuff.

It?s definitely very exciting to read this. And thank you again for the compliments.

I?ll add this one to my inspiration folder and perhaps they will become a reality one day.

Hang in there.

Yeah that's how I felt - they have some great Clone Wars characters, he always stuck out in my mind visually - he's cool and not quite humanoid.

I'm an artist myself, but I'm not equipped for making figures (there was a time when I was thinking of getting a 3D printer and all that, or just sculpting and casting... but my situation doesn't really allow for me to go too far with that at this point). Also, my eyes and hands aren't quite steady enough any more to do super fine details like eyes, though I can handle most everything else.

Looking at your work and attention to detail, I think you'd be up to the challenge of creating this character in 1/6 form - and I offer my skills in whatever way they might be useful, as a sculptor, painter, etc. But you seem more than capable yourself - mostly I just would love to see this become a reality and add the figure to my collection as well!

The hardest part, I think, would be creating a non-humanoid body since I haven't seen that body shape done before (if you look at the pics, he has 3 pairs of arms, so that would make it more complicated).

I have done some 3D work years ago using Lightwave, so I'm not a complete stranger to that world - I could probably learn any software that would allow that portion of the body to be designed and 3D printed.

I think it's such a cool character design, and since I like to see alien figures (and not necessarily humanoid) your work really caught my attention (and clearly I'm not alone - you should buy a production plant and start your own 1/6 company! - but I know, easier said than done). You're doing what I wish Sideshow and Hot Toys was.

I wish I had the space and resources to get into this myself like you have, I'd probably focus on non-humanoid characters like this guy, Jabba's court creatures, etc. But I'm glad you're doing it - great job!
