I have a friend who lives in Paris that is the QA manager at Quantic Dream. This isn't like heavy rain and the action isn't quick time events this time. He finally told me today about meeting Willem Defoe as it was kept under wraps until today. He said both Ellen and Willem were great people and Ellen Paige is a total sweetheart. He's bound to sing the game high praises but from what he's told me its going to be an emotional roller coaster and a game changer. I can't wait. Oh and no plans to bring it to PS4.

Really? I thought it was. If not, that was really weird on Sony's part; ringing Cage out to talk about the capabilities of the PS4, and then him referencing how Ellen Paige's character has a higher polygon count than any other. It seemed like he was talking about Playstation 4, but, oh, well. The only reason I was thinking of waiting was because this seemed like the type of game that would benefit from the added horsepower.

Thanks a lot, though; at least now I know that I can pre-order without worrying about a better version hitting a month later.:lol

Eh, I think you're safe. I'm in the camp that thought Heavy Rain was a really unique experience that opened the door for some very visceral storytelling, and I was willing to pick this game up on the basis that it would be just like that, but, if they're shaking things up a bit by having actual gameplay vs. scripted QTEs, I'm in even deeper.

It seems to be Quantic Dream's mission to try to blur the line between games and other media, and I really think they'll deliver another quality title in Beyond.

I dare say, might be even better than Heavy Rain. Heavy Rain was the best game of the last decade IMO.

There is a Limited Edition for preorder on EBGames, still just $60, with extras like the soundtrack and a 30-minute DLC. Just a heads up in case it really is limited. :)

The Willem Dafoe reveal made me very happy, I'm looking even more forward to this now. i haven't even played Heavy Rain yet, but I plan to buy it and beat it before this comes out. :)

So, and not to sound sarcastic, but will be more of an actual game? If so, I am excited....Heavy Rain was cool, but in an interactive movie kinda way. Similar to their last one that I really dug

i liked heavy rain, the story was a bit cliche but the execution was very good.

Update: sorta related, but at GOG.com, they have David Cage's first game (that I'm aware of) called Fahrenheit (or Indigo Prophecy) for $3!!!!!!!

Indigo Prophecy was so great, until the end. Total WTF? moment. It's like watching the movie "Se7en" only for it to turn into "The Matrix" at the end. Way too rushed, some build-up to it would've been nice.

Heavy Rain is definitely the greatest gaming experience I've ever had, definitely hope this lives up to the bar that HR raised.

Gonna replay it soon; for $3 for PC, I was like, 'what the hell'

Kinda forget it, but remember digging it overall

Wow, cool. I consider it more 'interactive entertainment' than game, but bottom line: it was good!

That gameplay video was great.

I'm not really into this type of games but the story shown had me hooked. I actually gasped out loud when
those punks showed up after the fire and whacked out Jody.

:impatient:

After Quantic Dream cancelled DLC for Heavy Rain it left me wanting more! :gah:
