I imported the order a while back, but how do we actually pay?

I emailed Big Chief asking to pay for 2 items and they said they would send me the invoice to pay so i assume you wait for them. I believe it is a temporary solution while they are sorting there website out.

Big Chief wrote me back:

Hi Marc,

Each time a payment is received we have to manually mark it as received in the new system. This is a temporary measure.

Your last payment simply has not yet been update and marked as paid.

Rest assured it will be before we set up the shipping page for customers to pay.

Please do not worry.

Tanks

Mark

So if anyone is worried about the same thing, don't be. :)

I just tried logging in at BC's site, and it wouldn't let me even though I know I got my old password right. Do we have to set up a new account or what? It's making me nervous to turn over this much money to them, the whole operation is so damn ghetto.

New account. It shows one for existing users to create one with the order number. Imported both my orders a while ago, works perfectly.

Relax. Big Chief are an hour's drive from me in a First World country with strong rule of law... you're not dealing with some guy operating out of a shack in the orient.

No bigotry intended.

Either you have me on ignore or you ignored my post giving instructions to creating the new account, which you need to do. :thud:

Ok, I created a new account, just waiting on the e-mail to set it up. I assume you have to wait for someone to e-mail you back, because I haven't gotten anything yet.

The fact that the customers themselves have to create all new accounts and manually find the relevant order details from emails sent out months ago, so that they themselves can then manually update their own orders into Big Chief's perpetually broken and difficult to navigate website is ridiculousness beyond belief in my opinion.

If I wasn't a crack addict level Who fan I think my tolerance levels would be pretty close to worn out at this point.

That is sooooo true.
I am concluding that it's all a ploy, to make collecting from them an, interesting experience; one which creates total immersion in the process. Haha!
I suppose when all is said and done, we are getting some pretty cool Doctor Who figures.

Agreed. There's definitely something potentially legendary about this line... mostly for the right reasons!

It is all a bit ridiculous... I was surprised that people were only now just doing this, until I realized most of the activity/explanations/customers helping each other out talk to do this happened in the Sherlock thread. So if you didn't have interest in those, you might not have known about the need to make the new account!

Yea since I have zero interest in the Sherlock figs, I was unaware until someone brought it up on gallifreybase.

I promise you guys it's not a ploy. As you know we have been developing the new website for some time. The problem is signing to a new payment gateway provider. The issue being the fact that we offer our customers payment plans. It would seem that whilst such a service is not a big deal in the US, in the good old U of K it is. The hold up is getting them to understand that we offer our products for pre-order several months before release. Whilst we are working hard to improve manufacturing and delivery times, this kind of product is largely hand-made and so takes time. It's not a problem of course you're a millionaire pop star who pre-sells tickets to concerts more than a year in advance, then it's ok...?

As I am sure you can appreciate whilst we want to make our new website informative and fun, it is essentially a store to sell our products. As such we have to first get signed up to a gateway provider, then build the store and site around their system.

We are doing our best with the interim system, far from perfect as it is, and implementing services as we go. Some of which will continue to be used once the new site is up and running, some of which won't.

Rest assured however that if you have already set up an account in the new system, you won't have to do this again. If you set up your account under the old system, you will be required to set up a new account and import your orders.

We have a post ready to go live right now, but are holding off pending some final checks etc.

More soon...
