I'm surprised we didn't get that sculpt with the new 11th Doctor. I guess Big Chief thought the Capaldi sculpt would move more figures than the old man one?

That and the clothes 11 v.2 comes with aren't the right ones for the "old" sculpt (but that didn't stop CO/UGT. So what do I know? :lol)

Would love to see them do a pertwee figure next, velvet jackets and flowing capes, additional gloved hands, screwdriver, tardis key and blue crystal:) Oh and a 1/6 scaled bessie as an exclusive:wink1:

Though very grateful for it, I'm still kind of surprised that they actually included the Capaldi head, rather than something else, with this version of the 11th Doctor that we just got (well, you all just got, and I'm still looking forward to... :p). And I do wonder if that isn't what has hurt their sales of the Series 8 12th Doctor a little, given that he's probably one of the easiest Doctors to kitbash, and so the head sculpt is the primary and most desired component required to do that. Which they pretty much just gave us all as a nifty bonus.

While nice for us customers, including the head sculpt of a Doctor that they haven't yet given his own full individual release may not have been the wisest financial move for their own benefit here. Something like the post regeneration Tennant head doesn't have the same kind of problem, of course, because they will have already done two full Tenth Doctors releases by that point (three, if you count the 50th variant). But I do wonder if this wasn't a slight tactical error on their part, and perhaps they should have included something else, like perhaps that old 'Ganger' 11th Doctor head instead? Though again, all that said, it did get us all a 12th Doctor in our collections in the shortest possible opportunity, so like I say, I really am quite grateful for it, and from a customer and 'value adding' point of view, it was fantastic.

As for more 11th Doctors, with the original, the series 7, and the kitbashed Stetson look (that I'm just waiting for the green coat incentive on, now), personally I'm more than satisfied at the moment. If they won't to try another variant down the line, because they think the sales are still there to support it, then I'm fine with it, but it won't be something I'm holding out on, and either way personally I'd really like to see some more Doctors we don't yet have first. So Roll on Eccleston and hopefully another classic Doctor next, I say. :)

I can never have enough of my Doctor, wouldn't mind at all having more 11th variants. Snowmen, Tux, Wedding, Pandorica version with mop, fresh out of the shower version from The Lodger :lol, a display with all of his different looks would be awesome. :)

Patrick Troughton would be awesome. Probably still my most wanted as well, along with Colin Baker (who I honestly can't see happening any time soon), and then Jon Pertwee rounding out my personal top three. With McCoy, Davison, and McGann bringing up the rear, in that order. And Hurt, too, if they get to him.

Mind you, I'm still in for every Doctor, and looking forward to each and every one that gets made, so I'm good with whoever they make after Eccleston, and pretty much whichever order we get them in. :)

I am second on your list to petition for that outfit.
The Snowmen look was the first time (in my opinion) that Mat looked like A Doctor.

I'm guessing from this comment you prefer Doctor costumes with some kind of period detail? Funnily enough I'm exactly the opposite - I prefer the modern outfits we saw between Series 1 and Series 5 and my favourite classic outfit is the only one that could pass as contemporary (at the time) Tom's first few outfits. But I do love the Snowman outfit, the colour, the shape of the outfit, and that wonderful hat all make it an absolute must have for me if BCS ever do it. It was a great episode too, the whole memory worm thing never fails to crack me up.

I'd love a Season 5 outfit that came with an exclusive, maybe the football kit from The Lodger.

You are absolutely right. The period look on a Doctor works for me. The frock coat idea is just so Doctorish.
I don't think we will see another 11 release any time soon though. That said, I wouldn't have thought we'd see a second release of any Doctor before the range was completed. I was very wrong about that, so .....

Yes, i agree, it will be a few years if ever. However, the demand for a tweed jacket is very strong, people really want that look, and the original release is now pricey to say the least.

I actually prefer 11's series 7.5 look to the tweed costume.

Do you know, the more I look at the figure - and this is no reflection on the figure itself, it's a wonderful figure - the less I like the outfit. It's just not as iconic as the tweed for me, and the silhouette is blockier. Even the fact that it's purple is starting to put me off, it's too exotic, too attention-seeking. Better stop right there before I talk myself into selling it.

Nothing like talking yourself OUT of liking a figure :)
I really like this look over the tweed jacket look. I recall the newspaper article that accompanied the introduction of Mat's look to the public. They compared the Doctor to a Geography teacher ! I wasn't blown away with his look, but it grew on me. So this version of 11 from S7 is my favorite of the two.

That original figure sold out, and I can't see why BC couldn't just have more made. Not a new figure, but a reissue of a previous best seller.

I'd take a season 5, or Snowman 11 in a heartbeat. What I want most though is a smiling Matt headsculpt :)

I used to prefer the tweed jacket look, but I have gradually started to lean more towards this look.

It used to be quite a predictable cycle for me - buy it, love it, get bored, sell it, then realise I wanted it just after the price had sky-rocketed. In this case I will certainly be keeping this figure, not only is it amazing but if I sold it I guarantee I'd watch DotD in a year's time and be desperate to own it again, only to find it was fetching double retail on eBay.

They did that for Sherlock but apparently can't do that for any other figure, which sounds like there isn't a hard and fast rule for reissues, they just make it up when convenient :) Even this figure says on the certificate that it's limited to 1000 but the website says 1500. No doubt there's some tricksy explanation for that somewhere. Shame, because a 1000 of the tweed jacket Eleven would sell like hot cakes, especially with the improved paint techniques that we've seen on the stetson eleven. But then, that would affect sales of any later version down the line, so if they think they might do a newer version they won't reissue the old one. Or maybe that's what the convention exclusive will be!

DVD1 i meant to ask, do i remember rightly that you ported your original Eleven onto a new body? Was it a slim TT and does it fit well, do all the pegs fit etc?

There's the option to just sell the outfit, if they can't/won't reissue the original figure. Less risk for Big Chief if they did that, less room taken up in the warehouse, and cheaper for them too.

Yes, I did change over and everything fits perfectly.
The arm joint had disintegrated on the original BC body (which used materials not too dissimilar to that if the old CO bodies).
I ported everything over to a TT slim. I used the BC hands and feet with no pegging problems at all.
I used the Stetson head with the neck post from a similar, but different blank figure to get the exact color match. I kept the original BC neck post on the original 11s head, and used that on the space suit body (it is also on a TT slim). The irony of this is that, in hand, the figure feels so much better. The TT bodies (and HT bodies in general) have a much better quality to them. They are heavier and more durable. And, they cost less than a tenner.
Here's a side by side with the new 11.
