To be fair making something that most people don't care about the incentive item isn't actually much of an incentive. The whole point is to encourage people to pay early...usually far in advance of when they will eventually ship. So unsurprisingly most people need a reasonable enticement of some sort to even consider parting with their money so far in advance. Otherwise most would probably play the wait and see card instead.

I can't disagree with you there. As it stands, the mini-tardis was the best incentive for 12. I the season really didn't lend itself much to the fun of additional accessories. If I had picked up 12 and missed that, I would have been a little sore over it as well, as it is fun, even if the episode was average at best.

Call 'em around 1-2pm, they'd usually pick up within seconds - but then again, they're busying with the upcoming comic con.. I accidentally cancelled it once before too. Just email [email protected] and they can reactivate the order.

Don't get me wrong, the episode wasn't bad, but it was no Bells of St. John, for example. I think by the point we reached Flatline I was so through with "the Adventures of Clara and her companion The Doctor" that the episode was tedious. I do love his speech at the end and the mini Tardis. My personal favorite of that season is The Orient Express followed by Kill the Moon, I think.

Okie dokie, dedicated Who shelf is in business. I need an acrylic Stoney's Stand for all the goodies to display. They may not be Hot Toys, but I do really enjoy them, and under new lighting I realized how much I like the 11 paint apps.

And just to show that everyone's tastes are different, personally I thought Flatline was a great episode, while I find Bells of Saint John to be a rather terrible one.

on the topic of those incentive accessories i was so disappointed to see that that new ex of 12 sold at recent con included the mini tardis. damn still stand by all s8 12's should have that and its utter crap they dont. grrrr trying to get over the lack of that mini tardis but yup my 12 still feels incomplete.

I kinda liked Kill the Moon, even if the final premise was rather silly. And I liked Flatline because we got to see Clara pretend to be the Doctor (and pull it off). I recently watched The Christmas Invasion, and seeing Rose pretend to be the Doctor was a bit brutal. I also don't remember Bells of St. John at all without Googling (so take that as you will).

The mini Tardis is a rather neat extra, but I think it'll be available for purchase separately (I read that somewhere in the 12th Doctor thread, and it would follow the pattern for previous preorder exclusives). I agree it should've come standard, but at least you should have a chance to pick it up.

They are pretty clear about stuff being an incentive to preorder so you get it free if you pay in advance - and I think it's great that those who miss out get the chance to buy if separately later on, long may that policy continue.

Finally received my ten, after two weeks of waiting. I can say that I was worried but I Love this figure. The paint is very nice in hand and love the converse. I still dont have a detolf to display him but my daughter took some cell pics.

Here's my figure after a bit of a touch up. I didn't do a full repaint or anything, but just added a few more layers of detail to the existing paintjob (since it was already a perfect base color). I did repaint the eyes though, to make the irises a tiny bit smaller, but I'm not sure if those turned out as good as they could have...

I also switched temporarily to a white shirt until I get a better light gray-blue shirt somewhere, as the previous one was just a little too blue for my taste. And then finally I made a new burgundy tie.








And here's a comparison with a pic I took on the first day. As you can see, I also extended the neck by an extra 1/8" or so, which I think really helps:




Now I gotta see if I can fix up my original Eleven figure somehow.

That's a fantastic paint touch-up! It's a huge improvement from the stock paint job, which looks horribly flat in comparison.

Thanks! For the tie I just cut out a strip of cotton fabric the same length as the other tie, and then folded over and glued down the sides with a glue stick. It didn't take that long to do at all.
