It's true of the entire internet - people are more likely to say something negative than something positive. It's unfortunate.

I do know that I'm very happy with 11, looking forward to 10. BCS seems to going through similar birth pangs that SSC and HT went through, but now the spotlight is brighter and the best of the hobby makes for unrealistic expectations.

We should chart the reactions to new figures - it's the same no matter what company makes it:

1) Initial announcement - yay!
2) Prototype shown - "his nose isn't big enough - see my photoshop of Ernest Borgnine shows what it should really look like."
3) Production figure shown - Oh my god, the coat is .0003 microns too thick - what were they thinking?"
4) Price announced - "Are they crazy, no one will pay that...(except me and every one else, because it's sold out in 4 days).
5)It's shipping - "I hope I can get on the wait list!"
6 ) it's here! "wow, this is much better than I expected!"
7) I can't get one and therefore this figure is poo - I don't know what all the excitement is about.
8) ebay - "sold listings - $900"

wahahahahah! very true friend XD

Sorry if this is the wrong thread to post this (I don't really watch Doctor Who). Since this video was posted on October 2nd on YouTube, I scrolled back to October 1st to see if it was posted, but didn't see it. Talented people at work here. Seeing the actual process in getting the sculpts done was interesting. Brilliant work. If only they sculpted something I was interested in :D

Edit: :lol This isn't even Doctor Who. Sorry. Well it's an interesting watch anyway :D

Thanks for the link, DGTW.

I know we all speculated the US cost would be $220 since we don't get charged the VAT, but I'd like to know for sure.

BCS figures are usually available in the US through BBTS aren't they?

They have been for #11 and Amy, but from #10 on it looks like things have changed, at least for the time being...

....The numbered figures are available exclusively from bigchiefstudios.co.uk and will be offered in both Signature and Limited Editions...For the first time we are proud to announce that these figures will also be available in ultra-limited numbered pairs.

ok.... so I've signed up 3 times now for the newsletter thing... and still haven't gotten any notices!!! and I'm CANADIAN!!! we're in the commonwealth!!!! c'mon BC!!!

BCS really need to improve their heads on their figures, they look cartoony and just doesn't look real enough. They look like Barbie dolls.

The nose and mouth are slightly off, but there is still more than enough of Martin freeman in there to make it instantly recognisable as being him. We did not hesitate to put them on our 'Must Buy' list when we first saw them and at that stage, that was just as two thrown together protos at the NEC last year.

Greggo said (either in this actual thread or FB, I don't recall but certainly one or the other) Martin signed off on his straight away. I don't blame him.

Roll on Sherlock and Watson...POs going live some time next week we hope. :yess:

The head is too big for the body, that is part of what is making it look cartoony. If they are using the same bodies as for 11, they are slightly smaller than standard action fig bodies, so would need slightly smaller heads. I have to assume this head was sculpted standard sized.

Hi all. New to the forum and was wondering a couple things about the Sherlock figures. One, do you think that Big Chief will continue to make more Sherlock characters down the road or is this it? This will directly impact which ones I try to pre-order. If they continue the line I'll want both but if not then I can live with just Sherlock. And secondly, how quickly do you think the signature ones will sell out? Do you have to be on the computer at the exact moment the pre-order goes live or you'll miss out? Thanks in advance. :wave
