First picture I've seen where the shirt collar doesn't look like a white ring.

It looks futzable there to me; I'll likely have to slim the sleeves though.

No way I'd buy one of these without seeing a picture of it inside the box so I can see if the collar is good or not.

Yea I completely know what you mean. I didn’t PO it simply b/c I wasn’t sure about BCS production quality, especially given what they’re charging for their figures. The layers that the Thomas Shelby figure has could prove to be too difficult for the production workers to make right especially if the production fabric ends up being too thick.

I really wanted to PO the 10th Doctor as a gift for my best friend, but not only is that sucker $350 but we also have to worry about if it’ll actually come out looking like a $350 figure (which I highly doubt unfortunately).
I caved in and POed a while back, but I've been having serious second thoughts for a while now. I don't even like Peaky Fookin Blindahs that much, I'm just a sucker for well-tailored suits and like Cillian Murphy. It's why I was curious to see if they'd do Alfie and Mosley, as again, I love a well tailored suit. I already had my misgivings, but I figured, "screw it, how bad can it be; it's not like we'll see any other company tackling the license" and then the signature edition got me to PO from BCS directly. The price is huge however, and I'm not confident that they'll match it.

As for the DWs, 10 looked too cartoony. They all looked kinda weird and are very expensive when you factor the pound/euro/dollar difference, plus shipping and taxes. But I caved in and got a 12 as he's the only I was missing from the NuDocs (beyond 9, but then again I just don't like his design) and he looked the best out of the bunch. I hope it turns out good as I've only got two installments left, but this fiasco isn't feeling me with confidence.

Honestly, for the prices BCS charges, the quality absolutely isn't there. But they're handling relatively niche licenses, so it's their version or nothing, which is how a lot of folks cave in.

For my money, them being relatively low-key means they gain a higher cost on the aftermarket, so even though I'll never sell, I kinda justify the cost to myself like that. The Docs are all alone in their part of the collection, but I was planning on displaying Tommy with Dam's Vito, and I fear the difference between the two will be too great. But we'll see, I guess. Maybe they'll really work on these.

OK, some more pics. They've been tinkered with a little- Bond's collar pulled down a bit, No's head raised up on the ball joint. I still don't like the fabric choice for either of them- looking at proto pics No's suit was always in that fabric, Bond's is harder to tell, but I'm convinced it's a smoother material. It'll be difficult to swap them on to HT bodies as the arms on the BCS bodies are a lot shorter. Heightwise they are the same height as LALD Moore. It's annoying that they went with flesh joints on the No figure as you can see them, it would have been much better to do them in black. Still with Dr No, I'm yet to find a photo where his trousers have the turn ups. That fabric is the killer for me though, and it's thickness means it's really hard to tinker with and water treat nicely.

You know, if we'd seen these pics first this part of the thread might have been a little different......

Guys

The last pics from one of the forum members with the trench coat look serviceable. But the Tux honestly is
a nightmare. The shirt and the bow tie
I don’t believe is going to work. And if you can only get the trench coat as a DX, then
I think it is game over.

The biggest issue is if the body use for the
new figures are the same one BCS use for
The first GF Bond , it is another game over situation .

That first body was very sad as the shoulder was extremely narrow and not workable. No new body would work with the original GF Bond suit. Ask me how I know.

I hope I’m proven wrong . I mean I’m not looking for custom fit like a $700 custom suit but …
Calm down. So much negativity from people who don't even have the figure! The figure is very good. It looks great even compared to my Hot Toys figures. I guess if you're going out your way to find faults (yes there are minor issues here and there) knock yourself out. Is up there with the greatest Hot Toy figures? No. But it is (in my opinion) the best 1/6 James Bond figure I've owned. For James Bond collectors (like me) it will be something to cherish. For non Bond fans, there are plenty of other figures to spend your cash on. I'm not disappointed by what Big Chief Studios have produced. I am annoyed slightly it doesn't come with the overcoat & hat but I wouldn't display the figure wearing it so it's not a big deal. The figure turned out great and looks amazing in my collection. Very happy I got him.

You know, if people would just wait for decent photos to drop before making assumptions this thread might have been a little different.....
Very nice pics Misterscruff and you have them both looking the best we’ve seen them so far. I still maintain that the tux is oversized and ill fitted. Ultimately the quality isn’t quite there to justify the price being charged (in my opinion). Glad you and HarryBlack are happy with them. At the end of the day, the negativty in here is just a reflection of the disappointment that our expectations haven’t been met by BCS again.

Thanks for the comment on the pics. To tell you the truth I can't say I'm happy with them, they're OK, just OK. They'll do for now but are a big missed opportunity for BCS, especially after all the delays and excuses. The tailoring is to a body with short arms so that limits options with body swaps. Both have sleeves that are quite baggy and not fitted properly. The fabric used is awful for both, and the vents on the Dr No figure aren't true vents but lazily folded fabric to represent vents. Bond at least does have proper vents. I don't know what they were thinking with the fabric choice, I really don't, and in my opinion it looks worse on Dr No since it's a lighter colour. Did they really think that would resemble to original linen in 1/6th scale? Most of the accessories are very softly moulded too- Bonds shoes are particularly disappointing as the details are so soft. My Bond doesn't have the advertised socks, and I've seen another like that, so I don't know if it's standard, and mine was also missing the clip from his Beretta. I contacted Big Chief last Friday, but still no response. I've seen one poor bloke on FB who received a Bond figure missing all the switch out left hands. The QC is pathetic as always with Big Chief, but I'm not surprised. I'm not disappointed as these have matched my expectations, which were pretty low to begin with. As far as the licence speculation, if true, "the Big Chief is dead, long live the Queen".

The Bond head sculpt looks pretty good but, unfortunately, the figure suffers from macrocephaly. Sideshow keeps delaying my final payment. So should I cancel and lose my deposit? Should the U.S. establish a no-fly zone in Ukraine? Questions, questions. :lol

He makes him look good! My local retailer sometimes gets BCS in, they had the Goldfinger figures, so maybe I'll get to see these in hand. They get them through a distributor though, so there is a hefty mark up.

Other than the large sleeves, the Bond in the video looks pretty good.

Misterscruff, those are some nicely futzed figures to be sure. Best they've looked yet. I agree with all your disappointments on this set, but in the end you got them looking about as good as one can.

Besides the material choice, the strange collar on Bond, the large sleeves and the short "jacket" length on both still make me crazy. But I do believe you have changed my mind on picking up Connery after all.

Incidentally, Dr No does have cuffs on his pants -- if you watch the scene where he sneaks into Bond's room, camera follows his feet.

Thanks for the comments on the pics! I'm hoping that the Tux run on the other forum will solve most of my issues with the Connery figure.

Brilliant, thanks for the screencap. I was going off these promo pics, but I'd much rather trust a still from the film.

It looks very nice in that video. Despite it's short comings it will look great on display beside Roger.

Love the wee box with the pistol and bullets, but it's a pity they didn't include a fold out poker table as an extra accessory...:007
