I didn't take it personal bud. I chuckled at it but did notice the underlying cynicism (or at least what could easily be seen as such). I'll chalk it up to a funny comedian who just delivered a bad joke.

Bin Laden was in poor health. Was any medication found in his system? If so, what kind? Where did he get it? If his condition was so bad, was he being treated? If so, by whom and where? What had he eaten recently? Was it something unusual or exotic? Where did he get it? Did he have some gun powder residue on his hands? Maybe he was training nearby. If so where? Who was he training?

You can piece together his life and try to find out what he was doing. It offers you the opportunity to collect data on the biggest terrorist in the world. You don't just dump the body.

Especially if any words were exchanged and how it was determined who would carry out the execution.

You're right. It makes much more sense to just dump the body overboard. Why avail yourself of the opportunity to study the FBI's #1 most wanted criminal? They probably just didn't feel like doing an autopsy. Plus, it gets really icky with guts and stuff.

Yeah, pretty much.

I was a little surprised they dumped the body so quickly as well, but it DOES make sense from a Muslim perspective.

I'm sure they did everything necessary to ensure that it was him, and got whatever relevant intelligence possible from the body. You're right though - the vast majority of useful information would come from exploiting any hard drives, cell phones, etc on the premises.

As for burying within 24 hours - that's completely appropriate. Gives the hardliner Islamists one less thing to complain about, although I hear some of them aren't too happy he's underwater. Oh well. I imagine that's so there's no possibility his burial place becomes some sort of shrine?

Apparently the seals were wearing cams and the president watched it real-time. So I imagine it was filmed (recorded) too.
News just released is that he held his wife in front of him as a shield.

Everything you need is on the hard drives...

Given that this was a heliborne insertion, they couldn't just put stacks of computers onboard, I imagine.

Yup. That's the next question. We give them $18B a yr. and the guy was basically hanging out. If he was there for long, he had to have some regional support structure for assistance.
