Not the bastion of quality reviewing but slash film gave this 3.5 out of 10.

Oh and Walter Hamada has now officially (and already) left DC films so who knows what other non-magic will come from Zaslav now.
Yeah I've noticed even a lot of the scifi and comic book sites seem pretty down on the movie.

Although a lot of youtube reviewers I follow (like Dan Murrell) seem to think the movie was a lot of dumb fun. So I don't know WHAT to expect when I go see this tomorrow.

Worth every penny just sit back, relax and enjoy the ride and have fun.

Most people will always set that every DC in the upmost standard, compared usually with Nolan's and other classics. It's VERY action packed and mayhem maybe one of the most action packed CBM ever! (one of the major selling point you will be satisfied on this one) and yes i believe there's enough scene cut from the final product since they try to squeeze this under 2 hr runtime. I hope an extended come is in the home videos.

There was a plot and character development but since they squeeze them too much it was drown in the mist of the actions.

The audience score is legit on RT or IMDB so people are enjoying this.

7/10

/\OUCH/\

Been revealed that Cavill’s cameo contract was signed over Labor Day weekend and his post credits for Black Adam and the Flash we’re literally shot at the end of September!!!
Just cameo contract? Bet they are working on a multi-film contract now to cement it and make him happy.

Just watched it. I enjoyed it. Definitely glad this movie was made.
Was it…..

FUN!

I kid that’s cool if you liked it.

Most DC fans are saying the same thing.

Fun enjoyable action movie worthy of repeat viewings….but with a horrendous 3rd act villain showdown lol

I also enjoyed this at a matinee today. Even though everything is of course cgi this somehow felt more tangible. It also looked like there was a decent budget but the story was very localized, intentionally. The finale was formulaic but I still enjoyed it. And the audience went absolutely crazy at the post credit scene. Theater was packed, too. I hope this does well.

Should I watch Shazam now?

Absolutely. Shazam was amazing!

My review:

I just watched a movie that shouldn’t exist.

No Shazam in a movie headlined by a character directly tied to Shazam and then to make matters worse I just kept constantly thinking shouldn’t this be a Superman movie with Shazam guest starring in it.

WB DC universe feels like an episode of the Twilight Zone lol

But guess what it was indeed entertaining I would be lying if I said otherwise.

I did like how BA
knocked out Atom Smasher like Hulk did Hank Pym in the Ultimates!

Not to raining on your parade, but will you said the same thing about that movie Joker, Venom, Loki, even Morbius, Agatha where the main protagonist was nowhere to be found and they hailed them as some sort of the antihero/protagonist?

I think Shazam is not necessary on this first outing..they going through the right direction by introducing him as a one of the threat/powerhorse in the DC that will stay. secondly, the geography of the event and how contained the situation was in merely hours after he is resurrected, it is logically that Billy wasn't aware at all and perhaps he was at school at this hour and such.
The build up would be great, i suggest you watch that animated feature Captain Marvel/Superman v Black Adam. Superman acts like a mentor for Shazam in preparing him to be a better hero or against Adam... that could be the plot if they meet eventually.

like yes.

Just saw the movie and I gotta say, I thought it was pretty damn good! Sure the villains were kinda lame and the story was as simplistic as can be (and a bit too rushed at times), but it was nowhere near the mindnumbing, Michael Bay-style mess the critics had me expecting.

The Rock was fantastic, the JSA were fun to see in action, there were some nice bits of humor here and there, and overall there was so much utter badassery on display that it easily made up for some of the weaker aspects of the movie. And contrary to the critics I actually found Adam's backstory to be pretty affecting, and enough to make you care about the character by the end.

And *******, that cameo at the end was absolutely EPIC and so perfectly done.
