Narratively, yeah, Shuri makes sense. Problem is Letitia Wright is a horrible actress who is surrounded by some INCREDIBLE other talent. I mean Jesus, Danai Gurira(Okoye) could literally just stand still for 10 minutes and give a more compelling performance than Miss "wHaT aRe tHosE".

Not to mention she's a total nutjob. Wish they just recast her tbh.

Didn't like her either. Tho following a script etc., real scientists actually read journals and know each others' work. Like Tony Stark respected Banner.
I know why their interaction was handled the way it was, but no-one truly royal would behave that way.

And I, and possibly/probably at this time are used to a Black Panther with presence. Just the way they talk and carry themselves, and usually that's with more mature actors. Certainly Danai Gurira and Emily Swallow (Mandalorian) have it. Whether Wright can get it together where she actually is a commanding presence - dunno. Doubt it.

As it is, Namor isn't what I pictured either. Maybe he isn't but he looks - dunno, short.

Who would’ve thought we’d end up having maybe more female heroes than males? Hawkeye is basically Kate Bishop now, Hulk is likely going to be out of action now and She Hulk will take over, all signs are pointing towards Black Panther being a female and we still have like a dozen new females they’ve added this phase lol

I really don't understand why they'd want to actively do this, considering comics are historically a male property and are only popular in pop culture because boys (obviously some girls) made it so.

You don't see them making the Babysitters Club mostly boys.

I feel this movie could be even more powerful than the original . It looks like two emotional stories in one plot..we have one story being the aftermath of wakanda after T’challa’s death and the repercussions of a nation moving on and on the other we have a war between Atlanteans and Wakanda while we are finally introduced to Prince Namor in the MCU

In hindsight the first movie was denied a Oscar for best picture but the plot for this one could actually win it because of the intensity and the fact that the main character T challa is not even there anymore

The first movie was no where near Oscar worthy and wasn't even the best MCU movie of 2018 - Infinity War was far better, even though I do like the first BP movie.

You're probably right about the Oscar chances of the sequel though, as long as its quality builds on from the first.

I'm sorry, but I personally (and I think most Comic Book fans would agree) do not want emotional baggage to be the center of my Comic Book Action Movie. A sad moment, sure, but the whole movie?? These aren't chick flicks, well, at least not yet...

Let's not give Disney any ideas to start handing out boxes of tissues upon entering the theater...

The first quarter to third of EG was nothing but carrying the weight of emotional baggage and that film turned out to be fantastic! And don’t tell me your eyes didn’t water up a teeny bit at the EG finale.

What about the heart shaped herb? Giving people suits might help protect them & give them some advantages in battle but without the herb their strength, speed, reflexes, etc., aren't enhanced and they're not true BPs. I think the leak that Shuri synthesizes/recreates the herb in her lab and gives it to ONE person is more plausible. If it's got to be a woman, I think Nakia is a good choice as she is a War-Dog and was effectively T'Challa's queen-to-be. Next on my list would be Okoye, with Ayo my dark horse candidate.

Good! People should be rightfully angry with that decision. Tchalla doesn’t die with one person . It wouldn’t be disrespectful to recast him. But instead we have him die off screen and give the suit to just about everyone like it’s basically meaningless. Movie looks great but man this decision of who black panther is is making me kinda hate this movie already .

Cash. The female-centric Frozen franchise turned into millions in licensing fees. If you could hook the imagination of all those little girls it's an untapped gold mine of fees. Like, the Marvels, collect the whole set of Marvel barbies. The more you put it in people's faces, the more all those families at the mall with daughters will be doing female superhero birthday parties. The problem with the success of the MCU is you have to keep generating more revenue. Stockholders want growth.

That's why I don't think that Marvel dislikes the male audience. They just wanted to add more cash from females. All those superhero themed licenses.

In theory. Seems like Rey didn't set the world on fire, but a wrinkly green puppet did. Plus big girls are likely to be writing bad self insert fan fiction about male superheroes. It's hilarious tho if the Twitter crowd thinks Disney/Marvel is being sensitive when really its about a bunch of number crunchers looking for more profits.
