Re: Black Widow premium format Comic Version

She first appeared in the 60s....1967 to be exact:wink1:

On another note, the hair sculpt reminds me a lot like the She-Hulk PF...

She Hulk's hair is much fuller and more flowy, this hair looks like it's two huge chunks in the front.

Should be up tomorrow

Re: Black Widow premium format Comic Version

Sweet. Hoping she has a leg up and it matches with Hawkeye

Re: Black Widow premium format Comic Version

If she looked like like this I would buy her.

Her hair on this statue doesn't even look red. It looks brown with a hint of red.

That's how SS does most of the redheads. Their hair isn't very red.

1964

Yeah I mentioned something like that earlier...

But why just Hawkeye?...she could match Bucky Cap...or the eventual Daredevil...or maybe Hercules if they get to him... :wink1:

Re: Black Widow premium format Comic Version

I have no interest in this but it's nice to get a comic version to counterpart the movie one.

It looks brown, and the Poison Ivy's PF hair is very red. This is a comic version so it should be redder than this. The SJ movie BW is redder than this.

the color on the statue is actually closer to a redhead's color than the pic that was linked. That looked more like a redhead that came from a bottle.

Re: Black Widow premium format Comic Version

The trick is most people love the movie PF so it's best to do a head that's completely different. I think the hair needs reworking and the jaw line should be resculpted. She might look more attractive then.

Then again barley anybody liked Storm's heads, especially the Regular. Then she shipped and the overwhelming majority loved the EX head in person, and all of a sudden the Reg head wasn't that bad in person as well.

A base...? I don't mind them but I'd rather they focus on exciting poses, and if the team base fits that pose, then fine. I'd rather see Widow on something else. Would be (or would've been? I guess we'll see) cool if she was aiming to shoot in a semi action pose instead of just standing there. Would've looked cool next to Hawkeye.

I dunno. I just don't like what they go for with these female sculpts. I strongly disliked Storm's heads, I really really disliked Scarlet Witch, did not like Vampirella's regular head, etc... The only time I've liked that artist's style was with She-Hulk, which I thought it worked well. Wasn't really feeling Poison Ivy's face either. To each their own though.

Personally I would love to see some Frank Cho sculpts. I love the way he draws females. His Scarlet Witch looked very pretty.

I'm loving this look. Was not too keen on the movie version (but suprised we're getting another Black Widow so soon when there are lots of other characters to explore :( )

This one looks like a mix of Black Cat, Baroness and Lara Croft all rolled into one. Sadly, limited funds means this is a pass for me, but still a great tease so far.

Re: Black Widow premium format Comic Version

I like it. I am looking very much forward to see some more.

I don't like the ScarJo version. To me, it seems like SSC tried a little too hard doing the likeness, which then ended up with an exaggerated look. Don't like the twisted torso, either.

This might be just the piece that I want to add to my Cap A PF and Iron Man 2 Maquette.

I agree. In real life red hair can look brownish on many people. A friend of mine has red hair but it looks brown a lot, and really red in brighter light. But if it's comic redheads I prefer the hair to be as bold red as it is in the comics, not brownish.

The Mystique PF & Comiquette and AH! MJ Comiquette weren't red enough to me. But then the Mystique LSB, Poison Ivy PF, and JSC MJ Comiquette have really red hair.

Cool.

Looking at the face again it has grown on me since yesterday. I at least appreciate SS not making generic looking, standard pretty faces for the comic ladies. I just wish the women's faces were less cartoony overall. The men's faces tend to be a tad more realistic for the most part while the women get big exaggerated eyes and proportions. This Black Widow is actually one of the least exaggerated of the recent female faces. Especially compared to huge eyed Rogue.
