This would be a pretty cool stand alone piece to have. I think it'll be very impressive. A few years ago I went to where Blackbeard died (I think) so I'm almost tempted to use that as an excuse to get this. It'll be my souvenir four years after the trip. :lol

I like it. These oddball, cool yet different products impress me. I'm going to get one. It will easily fit into my eclectic collection.

So is this going to have an exclusive? Cause I can't (at the Moment) think of what an Ex will be

That kinda came outta nowhere... I like it though! :rock

I wonder if the pricing will be a little nicer because there is no licensing associated with this fig. Then again, looking at the picture, they spared no expense in the detailing! :horror

This PF does look pretty cool. I like that he's got his flintlock at the ready in one hand and his sword at the ready in the other! If I were to get this, it would be the only 'non-film related' PF in the collection...but would still fit in IMO. True, I would love a Sparrow PF, but this is pretty cool the more I look at it.

Thinking of where they could go with 'historical' non-film related PF's, I go to thinking about how cool Astronaut PF's would be - A John Glenn in his Mercury flight suit, or a Buzz Aldrin in his moon-landing suit. Man, that would be too cool. Must...stop...thinking of the endless possibilities. Running...out...of space already! :D

BTW, I just checked into the 12" Blackbeard that SS put out a while back. Man, that thing looks more 'Hasbro-ish' in hindsight. We really have been spoiled by Hot Toys and the current level of quality from Sideshow. WOW!

That picture used is not indicative of the outstanding quality of that figure. Sorry, but it is just wrong to include the word 'Hasbro-ish' in a description of it.

I like the PF announcement. It looks great. The sculpt looks fantastic, though I do tend to think it would be hard for a real person to pull off that expression. In that way it looks, perhaps, too aggressive.

I still reckon it looks great. I would expect it not to sell that well because of its non alliance with a film. I saw the Napoleon PF was still available, so historic figures might not be the focus of the pop culture fan base that Sideshow has established.

Which could mean a VERY LOW edition size.

:::sigh::::

This should of been a Captain Jack Sparrow p.f. announcement.

:monkey4

Easy PASS for this guy.

I agree! I would've loved to see Jack. I MIGHT get this, depending on when it comes out, but a PotC PF would've been a definate!

Looks great, but wtf, Blackbeard?

Sideshow never ceases to amaze when not producing essential figures in certain lines and then producing obscure stuff like this :dunno

Stop being a whiny bithc. If they didn't do obscure characters once in a while you wouldn't have your Darkness PF.

How was your Thanksgiving?

This is kind of left field as the 12" Blackbeard and Napoleon PF took/(is taking) forever to sell out. It does look fabulous though I'm definitely ordering.

I guess it does fit in with the Dinosauria and Dead idea of making more stuff that doesn't require license fees.

Depending on release date and price, I'm in ... but I would love the assurance of more historical figures.
