From my experience Por.toys doesn’t really have a big drop off in quality, what you see is what you get. Hopefully it’s the same for that Artisan Studio.

Haven’t they already themselves confirmed there will be a drop in quality?

They did say there would be a 20% (I think) drop off with that Artisan Studio, but on their Joker 2 release I could barely see that. It looked exactly like the prototype pictures and it also came quite close to Por’s Studio version.

We’ll have to see when it releases.

Looks like when this comes out I'll have to see if I can find it after market, really impressed with everything I'm seeing. Just couldn't buy something on a whim through Instagram where they could disappear 6 months from now and I lose all the money I put down.

Not 2049 but just saw Kit put this up:

Maybe they'll get into the 2049 line. They can be kinda hit or miss sometimes but usually they come out pretty solid. Fingers crossed.

A rare one arrived. I think Buffy head deserves Yunsil.

Question to everyone, which headsculpt do you consider captures Gosling's likeness the best? I know many criticized the Kaizen sculpt that I posted plus Scout Trooper said he got scammed by this guy, but I still feel it's the best one, even the misalignment in the eyes are accurate to the actor's face.
Kaizen Custom toys offers this sculpt for $300. I think it looks phenomenal, really nailed Ryan's likeness imo.

Jnix is pretty good too, but the likeness fluctuates so much depending on the paintwork. I've seen excellent attempts, like the one that Rhamier did, but also some others that don't look anything like Ryan.
Anyone knows the source of this picture?

Trying to track down where the sculpt came from and who did the clothes.

Por.toys doesn't fully convince me, still good but something's wrong on it.

What are your thoughts on this?

Why don’t you guys gather a group to fund a Yi Xie commission for one? That would likely produce the best results.

It seems to me you know what you want already sine you know what you like and don't.

It's subjective at the end of the day, everyone will tell you different things. But there is math to anatomy but I think most of us look at likeness in more generic terms. Secondly, I think striving for perfection is a bit futile with things like this, especially someone so hard to capture as Gosling,

So, my advice is to just go with what you prefer and pick a sculpt that you think looks the most like Gosling, raw, unpainted, since that is the best base to start with. At the end of the day, it shouldn't really matter what anyone else thinks, it's your figure to enjoy and be proud of. But I know a lot of people want acceptance and praise in the community, too, which is understandable.

I fully agree with your points here, this is what I found, so avoided the Jinx sculpt. But I just went with what was available for a good price local to me, which is V Collectible's V1. That said, it does happen to be my favourite apart from Justina's. I really like the look of Por Toy's but I agree it looks off still. But again - and as someone who is still a perfectionist (I strive for the best and try to be realistic) - to me it is a bit pointless striving for perfection, I just don't think it exists. I think I'd be very happy with Por's based on what I have seen.

Hope that helps and happy collecting! (y)

Por.toys is a solid option for the price. As a non Blade Runner fan I think the likeness is pretty strong and I can definitely see the actor in that sculpt.
However I have no idea what all the other sculpts you mentioned look like, so one of those might have a better likeness.

Click on the "View attachments" that are in my answers, some pics there.
Here’s Yi Xie’s La La Land sculpt for an example.

And yeah, his work is amazing. Anyone interested in what Nick said about funding a commission?

How much do the sculpts usually run?
To commission a run of say 20 units?
I’d reach out directly to Yi Xie for a quote to be certain. Looking at a couple of grand.

Sculpts made by Yi Xie, sold by a run organizer tend to vary from $200-300 USD each, unpainted. Typically.

$200 x 20 is $4K so don’t expect it to be any less than around that.

You genuinely get what you pay for though,
either go through a ton of different sculpts that miss the mark or round up the gang and make a proper one.

All of my eggs are currently in the Justina Chen basket. To me, this looks to have great potential.
