I just emailed BLITZWAY to update their site for pissing off collectors to buy an out of stock product. It doesn't even say the statue is SOLD OUT yet. Still waiting for their reply, anyone else want to help out before other fellow collectors fall into their trap?

It's like the ultimate perverts guide to the Blitzway Marilyn Monroe Statue! lol.

I kind of like the way he finally ends up posing it, but I'll probably just keep mine like normal.

I don't know. That doesn't really look like Marilyn. Looks more like a Marilyn impersonator.

Back in the spring when this was up for pre order I wasn't sure whether to get this or not. I loved the prototype pictures. And the pictures of the artist sculpting and painting. But after seeing the production and owners pics I am glad I didn't. The final product doesn't look as good as the prototype. To me just doesn't look like a $350 statue like the prototype did.

If this doesn't look like a $350 statue then I guess you are not really ever happy with anything in this hobby these days, with most things coming in closer to $500. This pieces face and skin tone detailing is head and shoulders above most things we've been seeing from most every company. Hell, she even has freckles. I have thought that I would never see a piece in my collection with face paint apps that rival the Lara Croft Snow Day statue, but I feel like the better in-hand pictures of this one show that it has exceeded it. I honestly don't know what else one could expect for $350.

K bye.

I think expectations are different when the subject of a statue is a real person. There are different interpretations of Batman and Superman, but there's only one Marilyn.

So, to get things straight - people are out there calling "grails" and spending thousands on old female PFs with the faces painted in one plain color, while this statue is not passable? Acquire some taste please.
This is the best female head sculpt ever done on a statue, paint app is just above and beyond what you normally get. Not sure how many people could get you this level of detail and skintones even by paying for a custom repaint.

No I have a pretty good eye for these things. I have quite a collection of Hot Toys figures and I have been very happy with the likenesses as a whole, and have been satisfied with the hobby. To the point of having to restrain myself and become more selective considering the amount of releases now and in the future. This would have been my first statue.

I think this looks pretty great, but do understand the criticism on the likeness not being quite spot on from some angles, but that is pretty much the case on every piece done of a real person. Plus we usually have an idealized idea in our head of an actor/actress likeness.

I also got an email on Nov.2 from Blitzway:

I'm getting a little concerned if any of the US retailers are even going to get their shipment at all, or if they pre-ordered their shipment in time before the statue sold out. I've seen 4 youtube videos reviewing this statue and they all bought theirs off Blitzway's site. If they got their shipment, I wonder when US retailers will get theirs? I guessing by September 1 the statue was already sold out and Blitzway failed to update their site or even notify retailers who may have ordered from them at that time. OR maybe they only produced 50 of them, who knows? The statues aren't numbered, the latest video review of the statue doesn't have numbered bases. So we wont really know how many of these Blitzway made.
