Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

I'm not sure Molecule8 could put up something better than what Blitzway has already done, especially with a world class artist like KA Kim doing these head sculpts. However it'll be very interesting so see what they offer.

Isn't Kim working for Molecule8 now? She'll have to find a way to better her own sculpts.

Lol. I don't know if she technically works for them as a permanent employee, however she did do the sculpts for John Lennon. Someone else is doing Willy Wonka. I doubt they would commission her to do new Ghostbusters sculpts though, for her that would be really strange. Lol.

Well M8 has done it.....they revealed the teaser for their Ghostbusters....looks like I will be canceling my BW ones...these images of the product are too good to pass up...

Do you think these are real shots or CGI?

You got it all wrong. The sculpt comes first, then the renders. But this is a nouveau company who doesn't play by the rules. Ohhh, doesn't play by the rules...that's a turn on. Renders, renders, than sculpt. Sculpt, renders, sculpts. Renders, renders, renders. Never a full figure however. It like those blind box figures.

If it was 1/6, they'd say so, to keep people from buying Blitzway's OR Soldier Story's stuff.

My assumption is that they know everyone wants 1/6, and if they come out and say 1/4 right now, their current audience will lose interest.

Yeah...to be honest I was just going on memory and do not recall exactly where I felt I may have come across it...maybe their sneaky talk about not revealing the scale just left me interpreting it that way...

WOW...I did not think Blitzway will do it....but they did!!!...they just push back the release of these figures to do it with the presentation of the Ecto-1 and get as much "brand new" frenzee out of the offering, think the way they are looking at it..."brand new figures...they will jump to the Ecto-1 in nanoseconds because of the rush of a super icon addition to the figures".....but...as we all know...not everyone will get the Ecto-1...no matter how fantastic it will be, several reasons are plain and simple...the BIG number one, most collectors are FIGURE collectors FIRST and vehicles and other extras...second..and not even that...some will not even collect the vehicles given as a gift!! The second is the movie prop/ collector and, number tree...the ones that simply do not have the space to display vehicles and would prefer to spend the money in more figures, upgrades or even statues...and the number four....Will buy everything no matter what....seem Blitzway think...the previus 3 collectors field do not exist!!

I REALLY do not care how much they take to put in our hands these figures, if they do a magnificent work and deliver a stunning product...what really I dont like the "marketing" of...."preorder now to secure product" then give a date (s) for delivery and then...the waiting date bingo start, making impossible for those who have to do a full payment upon realese or those with a last payment plan...been able to use those funds for other purchases...knowing that they will have a month(s) to replenish the funds for the eventual payday. This is of course my VERY personal opinion on this and as one of the collectors who will pay in full the 3 doctors set when finally realese.

Well, actualy you are correct it can and will happen, I got the Hot Toys Delorean but did not get the figure(s) and I collect mainly figures that I like...not every single one made...but when a special vehicle is release like the Delorean...is a must have for me...but by the same token...I have to see the Ecto-1 to make up my mind if I get it or not...but the figures in this case are a MUST first.

True regarding KA Kim.

Not sure how Winston can get anymore spot on in my opinion, same with Venkman. Ray I think has a spot on likeness, but the expression to me isn't very Ray-like. The likeness of the Spengler sculpt I think is overall pretty good, but I'm not really feeling the expression too much. I think the shape of the head is a bit more accurate and the expression more Egon-like on the SS sculpt, but the paint apps seem a bit soft compared to the BW one.

My biggest quandary will be comparing Spengler sculpts, for if the SS one is on par in detail with the BW one (or even only slightly below) and is compatible with the body of the BW figure, I'll strongly consider picking up a parted out SS Egon sculpt and putting that on the BW figure.

The packs for the SS figures possess die-cast components to them, so if people report those as looking and feeling better than the BW (presumably) plastic packs, I may put those on my BW figures. If compatible, that is.

Regardless of what M8 puts out in that case, if anything, I think I'll have some pretty cool looking and high quality GB figures.

I agree on most of those points. If any of them "needed" a tweak, it would be Egon. I do like the alternate outfit options with the SS versions.
