Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

I agree 100%.

I've seen the 89 bay mobile and the Delorean in person they were fantastic but gigantic. These pieces aren't something you can Tetris or shoe-horn into a tight space. They require massive table top display space. They are so cool but I completley agree with and understand your sentiments.

That is a good point. I also had the Tumbler years ago, and it was a beast. But. . .I'll make space for the Ecto-1!

The 89 Batmobile made the Tumbler feel tiny :lol. If they scale it correctly, the Ecto-1 will be even bigger than the 89 Batmobile haha.

I would make room for a Landspeeder................

Oh yeah. A 1/6 landspeeder would be epic. Such a pity HT has had low sales experiences with vehicles. I'd love if they could put a dedicated team on some classic vehicles. Star wars landspeeder to go with existing Luke and Ben as a priority.

I have both a tumbler and Delorean , i used to keep one on the coffee table but it leaves little room for our normal use of a dinner table , when i get the ecto-1 ill have to alternate which one goes on the coffee table again, i ran out of detolf room at home. You just can not appreciate the size and quality them on top of a detolf

Landspeeder seems like one of the more obvious Star Wars vehicles, as it seems feasible, and you could see the figures really well in the seat. But we don't have New Hope Droids yet.

????. SS have decent versions of R2 and C3PO and R5-D4. Hot Toys are releasing an R2 and have shown a Gonk. There's also Jawas available. So enough for a decent diorama.

But ok some of the lesser known droids were either made a very long time ago our not at all.

Anyway back to Ghostbusters and the Ecto. Still expecting a sub $1k price similar to Delorian.

@Blitzway. $690 was the Delorean price. $690 !!

It's not a question of whether you could get a good display out of it. I'm talking about Hot Toys not having as much of a motivation to produce it, because they can't cross-promote products. HT farm boy Luke and Obi Wan are also probably not available from SSC at this point.

Maybe they're not available any more but there are plenty of people who bought them who would now be interested in a Landspeeder to go with their existing figures.

To me this is the better way to sell more product rather than everything at once. Far fewer customers have the cash lying around to purchase 2-3 figures and a 1/6 vehicle all at once.

But then, I guess they are the "rif-raf".

To be fair you have your detolfs raised. I understand why but if you do that the display space on top isn't going to be very appealing unless you are in a huge room with high ceilings. Vehicles display nicely on top of detolfs if they are on the floor.

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

I had it on the floor before , but then all 4 bottom section of figures appeared to bottom of the barrel the eyes never got drawn that low. I think i just need some lighting at the top , i have the matching Ikea LED lights just haven't go around to installing them on the ceiling , thinking of even maybe a 20deg ramp on them so that appear to have more of an angled look.

I think Ecto 1 is cooler than the 4 Ghostbusters. Everytime I see it, it makes me smile.

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

No offense, but I can't imagine spending that kind of money for such a cool looking vehicle... only to put it on top of a couple detolfs with no overhead lighting and where I can only really see it from one side. Whenever I see a Batmobile or DeLorean displayed in such a boring way it just seems so wrong to me somehow.

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

Ill show you a picture of an ecto-1 up there soon with no lighting as well.

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

I was hoping that a pax shelf would be big enough to house all of the 1/6 vehicles. Otherwise will need a table for the Ecto one.

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

I think they can look fine on top of cabinets and detolfs. Obviously a display giving a 360 degree view is the ideal but not practical for most of us. :lol

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

i have the hall of armor and the tony stark workshop but there is just no space to display them, i can hide the figures and hall of armor away in the closet but the vehicles are just so much bigger and tiny parts like the tumbler little antennas that can break and lose forever

I'm quickly finding out space is an even bigger obstacle than money in this hobby. The DeLorean is small by 1/6 vehicle standards and I just barely have room for it. No way I can get the Ecto-1 sadly.

I also have my detolfs raised. At floor level I always felt whatever I put on the bottom shelf was too low to appreciate fully.
