Sorry for Winston missing in the group shot, but his head is off for a repaint. Lol.

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

I could be wrong, but I think you may have taken IAT's post out of context, I think. At least what I gleaned from it.

Realistically, I don't think you're going to get a 1/6 sculpt to be just utterly perfect across the board, you're just not. As I mentioned, it's extremely difficult to translate someone's facial structure and features perfectly when you're dealing with something that small. However, that doesn't mean criticism isn't welcome. To me, that's part of the fun of the hobby: discussing and reading all the different opinions on where figures miss the mark of how it actually looks in 1/1 scale, and what it got right.

Us being staunch collections, I think we're just more prone to being a bit more scrupulous when it comes to vetting these figures, where we essentially put everything under a microscope so to speak, even to the point where some people are breaking out rulers and taking measurements. No matter how accurate and detailed a sculpt is, this will happen. There's going to be someone who thinks it's not up to their standards and looks nothing like the actor or actress.

While discussing the pros and cons of figures is fun, I can see people's point where at the end of the day, we should enjoy these. That's why we collect, no? Not to be perpetually outraged that these companies can never get anything right. There was a time where we wouldn't never get anything remotely close to this quality, even if it does slightly fall short in a few areas.

If this were 10 years ago, then obviously we wouldn't have much cause to nitpick or complain, but we've seen plenty of sculpts these days, even custom ones offered on here, that look about as dead-on accurate as can be (Alex Murphy, Homecoming Peter Parker, CW Tony Stark, Trevor Grove's Walter White, etc), and that truly look like a shrunken down version of the actor. So after seeing work like that it's only natural that some of us would want to push for every sculpt to be at that level. Since the bar has clearly now been raised.

Which isn't to say that we can't still enjoy a figure whose likeness isn't perfect, and I certainly have plenty of figures I love that fall into that category. This was just one case and one set of figures where I was really hoping they would get the likenesses to that much higher level. :)

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

Im solely a HT Star Wars collector but I am inclined to pick up one GB...but which one?

I can't swing all 4 as I am a teacher..lol
Again, Im mainly Star Wars also.

Suggestions on the best figure to get in this set?

If I had to go with one, I would choose Ray. It's a great sculpt, the goggles and trap show off the "tech", and the movie concept was pretty much Aykroyd's baby.

Well, my Ghostbusters Special 4 pack will ship next week.

:yess:

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

Some really good posts from Talibane here. Folks can't live and let live, and instead feel the need to state how they can't believe that members X or Y have certain opinions, pro or con about something. But all that really shows is that someone is too myopic to step outside their own shoes. More of the polarization that seems to infect every aspect of life nowadays. Different folks can like different things, or criticize figures for different reasons. Gush if you want, criticize if you want, just keep it focused on the figures and not other boardies.

About a hour ago I preordered Egon from BBTS. I had Peter on preorder from the beginning at EE. Ray was preordered in March from EE. I going to hold off on Winston in hopes that BW will release the GB2 Slime Blower version of him.

I do not think that they will be releasing a Winston with a Slime Blower...Blitzway releases figures at a really slow pace...this time in 2018 collectors will be impatiently waiting for their Hannibal Lecter figures...then the other original line that Blitzway announced...I will go on record and be proven to be correct that these 4 figures and the Ecto 1 will be the extent of Blitzway's involvement with this license...

Yeah I have to agree for now unfortunately. Probably not going to see any part 2 versions. Blitzway tends to be “one and done” or in this case “four and done”. Lol.

Great pics! :clap

LOL....

Considering I did a color match from a screenshot of Ernie from the film....I think its pretty close to his actual skin tone....

And yes its racist...

How does you attempting to merely match the correct paint shade in a 1/6 scale figure's skin to the melanin content in its 1/1 counterpart's skin in Photoshop indicate that you hate an entire race simply based on the melanin content in their skin?

The left Nick Fury would've been a perfect way of painting Winston in production.

Could you not see them doing the Terror Dogs? Apart from being an iconic design they could sell two of them (or one but some collectors would want two) making it financially viable.

I personally don't see them doing so. I think they've already made the "villain" from the film that makes the most sense on the self with the guys, which is Slimer.

Did Chronicle end up releasing their Terror Dogs? They looked awesome.
