Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

On the subject of value I believe they will all go up massively, especially Venkman and Winston - Venkman because he's the one people are most likely to buy as a representative of the film for their shelves, Winston because there will be less of him and people will want to round out the set.

I think a lot of the photos are misleading because they're close ups. When you look at the shots of all four of them from a little distance they look awesome as a foursome. Three only works as a representation of the hotel scene. I totally understand why the three pack was attractive for cost reasons but without Winston there will always be a sense of something missing.

I'm not sure they will all go up massively. At least not at first.

I firmly believe these are likely going to be the only 1/6 GB available for quite some time so that alone may be why they may ultimately rise in price on the secondary market, but I believe that many people who got these got four and three packs, so I think there will be a lot of individual ones still in circulation that will probably still be available for purchase at retail from many distributors for awhile. I don't think the individual figures, with perhaps the exception of Winston and maybe Venkman, are in danger of selling out any time soon.

Someone mentioned that BW may have compensated for the lack of Winston in the 3-pack by fabricating more individual Winston figures, but I disagree with this. They probably knew he'd be the least popular as far as single sales go, so I don't see them making a surplus of him compared to the other three in anticipation that buyers of the 3-pack might eventually want him. As far as the singles go, I think they made the same amount for each character, but there's obviously a pack that's dedicated to his absence in roughly the first half of the film, so there's more of the other three that are produced.

End result, the priciest on the secondary market I think will be Winston by virtue of there not being as much of him in circulation as the other three and he may become sought after when buyers of the 3-pack perhaps feel that there something missing from their set, and then Venkman just because he's arguably the most popular GB, so people who only want to get one figure will most likely choose him.

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

Dunno....after initial panic....most figure produced these days do not really go up in value that much.

The biggest jumps lately were HT Chewie (which is why they did a second run)
And Phicen Lady Death (which is why they did a second run)

Seeing a pattern?

Name a figure in the last 5 years that has doubled in Value like HT Jack Sparrow? (Oppsie! They are doing another of those too!)

Only figure that is left is Don Corleone.....

uh there are gonna be a ton of these on Ebay at retail once the online dealers get theirs- NO jump in value really-only temporary at best

The trend has definitely been that figures typically lose value but there are some outliers. A few I have off the top of my head would be dx07 Luke, dx11 Joker 2.0, and diecast war machine mk1.

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

Let's not forget the Hot Toys Blade. Even with the knockoff one going around, that one is still pricey.

Here's something I can't remember anyone bringing up. Does anyone think Spengler will be pricier in the aftermarket due to Ramis' death? I know it won't be the same as if he JUST passed as it has been a couple of years but I think it's possible he may go for more than Ray for example in the long run for this reason.

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

I got an email a couple of hours ago saying Flossies will have theirs in stock in 2 weeks as well! It's happening! If all goes well, I'm hoping I have mine by Thanksgiving!

That's not quite right. I should have worded that Flossie's email more carefully.
Bluefin expects to get them in about 2 weeks. They will need another full week to process the shipment and get them shipped out to retailers.
Could take the better portion of a week before they arrive at Flossie's after that.
So we're looking at "almost" up to 4 weeks to go.

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

How long does it take for a shipment to arrive to NA from China?

I heard it takes 4 to 6 weeks. 6 weeks if they have bad weather at sea.
But, that's for stuff going to Diamond which is on the east coast. Do the cargo ships always go to the west coast? Or do they do both?

Still good. Just in time for Christmas!

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

I bought DX07 Luke for 200 GBP. Sold it for 380 GBP. I bought it when it first came out and sold it early this year. Not sure of the age. four years maybe?

Wow, thinking back, 200 pounds for two complete figures. We are paying 250 pounds for just one these days.

Big hike indeed. But don't forget the Hot Toys Star Wars line was pretty much dead in the water then. A lot of collectors either skipped/sold it or hadn't started yet.

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

Hot Toys' entire (and very recent) Batman V Superman line will beg to differ with any argument that today's Hot Toys do not go up significantly in value!

It all depends on the character and whether there's been a reissue/ better version. Personally I think for figures to remain at retail is a pretty wonderful development.

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

It's just too early to determine if anything will be rare and go up in price on the after market. We don't know the edition size of any of them, if there will be a second run or GB 2 versions in the future possibly with a better painted Winston. We also don't know if the Soldier Story Ghostbusters figures are still coming and possibly as good if not better than the Blitzway Ghostbusters figures. One thing I do know is that the BW three and four packs are selling better than the singles at the moment.

Holy cow guess what just came in the mail!?!!?!!

Ha ha some of us (or maybe just me) already know that the Soldier Story versions will not be as good or better than the Blitzway ones...maybe if they get KA Kim to resculpt them and Blitzway to manufacture them...

That reminds me, I was looking at some of the pages of this thread from around the time of SDCC 2016 and someone wrote that they could see TerrorvDogs and a library ghost in a Soldier Story display. I'll see if I can find the quote.

Heading for page 2? Not on my watch!

Well, there could be revisions (the SS Venkman looks like Quintin Tarantino to me) and I did say we don't know if they're still coming. Soldier Story could also make a better looking Stantz or Zeddemore which they have never shown. That would make the BW figures of the same characters less desirable and more plentiful on the aftermarket. But that's a big What If at the moment.

I did a google on it and the only thing I found was Kuat of Kuat talking about the Terror Dogs from Chronicle Collectibles. Those are 1:6 scale BTW:
