I'll need to think it over and wait for any of you guys to grab a set and report back.

Besides Venkmen's, all the buckles that aren't next to broken did bend right after one use on all of mine. I wonder if we could just use the male side from that lot and the color matches.

My Venkman's belt was the best of them and intact, but one of the male inserts starting immediately slightly bending after sliding it in once. They break even doing what they're supposed to do. Getting a new proton pack or a new replacement BW quality connector I don't think would be the answer, as I feel you'd probably just eventually run into the same issue. Replacing the connectors with something that is roughly the same size but of better quality, seems to be more prudent.

I'd just replace both sides if I ever replace them, and either just leave the female side unstitched or just glue it. As long as you don't pull the belt taut, which mine aren't, I don't think you'll have a problem with the strap coming unlooped out of the female connector.

That's how my Venkman is as well. His belt was the best of all of them and intact, but one of the male inserts starting immediately slightly bending after sliding it in once. All of mine are bent inward after one use.

The proton pack clips are definitely flimsy , i was having a hard time putting one in, and noticed the female end was crushed, had to use an exacto knife to open up , go them all clipped in, if i ever need to take the packs off, ill just undo the strap much easier then trying to pull the clip back apart

The only riddle is how would you replace the female connector? The strap is looped around it and then stitched together so it doesn't come unlooped. You'd have to cut the stitching to get it off, replace it, and either leave the strap unstitched or just glue it together.

You cut the old one out by making a slit and gently pry off the loop- then cut a hairline slit in the new connector- gently pry apart and slip over the untouched stitched loop. You could add a tiny amount of super glue with a toothpick or just leave it as is. The cut will be hidden under the strap if that makes sense. No need to unstitch the female connector loop.

Yeah I was thinking that too, regarding cutting off the BW female connector and then creating a small opening in the new one and sliding the strap loop inside of it. Not sure how far you have to pry apart the new connector though get the loop in.

Just one cut through and pry apart to slip the strap in sideways. The harder and stuffer the plastic- the better.
I may replace mine anyways. However, I haven’t buckled any of mine as I took one look and knew that strap buckle(s) was one time use only.

Yeah I agree. Upgrading both of them seems to be the route to go. My packs are otherwise just fine.

I never checked to see if the streams fit into the wands, but to be frank, I really don't care. :lol

I almost had a big mishap with my Venkmen pack. When I did my reviews one of my lights fell on it... luckily nothing was damaged.

Something similar happened with my Ray. Like you said in your review, those wands go flying if they come off of the pack because of the slightly spring loaded cords. I was adjusting the pack on my Ray and his wand came flying off, and the end where the stream emits from banged against the table. Luckily, no damage.

They could of went with a less resistant material instead of a damn spring. They literally missile away from the pack if you bump it too hard.

I'll post burnt Winston tomorrow. :lol

Hopefully I'll be getting my Winston tomorrow. He arrived in my area today, so I presume he'll be on the truck tomorrow. Hopefully he's in as good of condition as my other three. I don't count the flimsy buckles, because that's a given. :lol

Blitzway is going to help me get replacement parts at least. New buckle, Venkmen suit and Ray head.

That more than you would ever get with SSC.....

Nice to see the service is there, and you don’t have to worry about doing anything yourself.

I was shocked myself. I found their CS email and they got back to me within 12 hours. They said just contact the wholesaler and CC them to the email.

The wholesalers gotta go through Bluefin for replacements.

Is anyone considering getting Venkman repainted? It did wonders for Winston and really brought out the quality of the sculpt underneath. Hard to tell if its the paint app or the sculpt itself that holds the likeness back though, with Winston it was obvious.

I think I'll probably give it a shot with mine. I'm just not liking those dark eyes or how tan he looks. Just fixing those two issues should hopefully improve the likeness quite a bit.
