You're right, it does look pretty crap in that video. On the contrary, it looked a lot nicer in that video that looks like it was filmed underwater.

Yeah but Chris explained why that was Nuri, the guy used a red light in that video in order to put a reddish hue on the figure so it would look like Bruce Lo's repaint. The same way people make that EB Robocop look like it has blueish hue by putting in a box with blue LED lights.

I wouldn't worry about it Steve. It looks nothing like that in 30cm's pics, and he has stated twice that it looks good in real life. I think it'll look fine.

Yeah in his latest ones that were poor quality, so you would expect it to look worse in them, go figure.

I'm happy to be the guinea pig for you if you're worried lol.

That means I will need to stall Pop C then and wait for your pics :wink1:

there's still a camera effect on the skin tone on this also, the hues change from more red to yellow.but the skintone is better,it's one of those ''better in hand'' items I think.

but if you look in that vid steve about 25s in you will also see a red beam in front of the statue base, and the skin tone appears red/pink when the camera moves
also if you have really good eyes like me:lol you get a purple hue(briefly)to his pant that is what gives him some tone to me,so your correct about him looking pale in that.

I thought this under water one was the one you were talking about, since it is the only video I have seen where the statue has reddish hues through it.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pjUkj31mlzU&feature=youtu.be

But I just watched that bad video again and I see his red light lazer pen that he is using at the start.

it's on both,i was bored.the underwater one you can see the colours changing on the statue when the camera moves,red/yellow it's not a natural tone and it's being enhanced unless bruce was red.it'shlighted better on the first I mentioned steve.all the pics show this with a paler tone.

Yeah at 50 seconds on the under the water one he turns yellow, so obviously that person used some sort of lighting to change the color when he was filming it, wheather it was on purpose or not. And WTF does it look like it is under water, WTF is wrong with his camera?

all the pics show this with a paler tone.

Well paler than the one in the under water video, but those latest pics by 30 cm look fine, not great but decent. So I am still on the fence.

if I'm lucky enough to get mine first i'll give you an honest opinion mate.and get wifey to take some pics.you know me and my photo skills.this will need natural light to give a good idea of it,unless someone with a great camera does one soon.
either that or we all buy a fishtank for it

this is my fave so far..apart from the sweat sprayed shoulder.this will do me if he looks like this.

Thanks Chris, it's good that you have the HD1002 because you confirm to us all then which one is the better piece, as far paint goes. I can't believe I am actually of thinking of flying down to Melbourne to see this in hand because of the paint discrepancies from video to pictures. This was not the case with the GOD, since no one cared to make that look better by using different lighting because you mainly just see the sculpt with that statue.

Look at that big glob of sweat running down his abs near the cuts on the right side of his torso. :yuck Anyway, he still looks way too pale and grey in that pic, I prefer this tan color he has in these latest pics of his.

There's also the water works running down centre of his chest and centre of his back. Some earlier pics show this which is really weird looking. am wondering if I pick it with my nails will come off?. :lol Not expert in painting statue .if need pay someone to paint this . :slap. Just hope inhand is not that bad.

Oh I see, yeah in that lighting it doesn't look as plastic like it did in those other pics.

How? :huh

You should have it soon right? If I could find a professional painter locally, I would get it repainted.

Regarding the sweat Steve I'll hand it to sis in law. She's an artist.and will sort it for me..no full repaint for me though.

From a likeness point of view, I agree, that is the best pic so far. And I think it's largely due to the hair being cropped out too.
For some reason, the bowl-shape of the hair on this piece is contributing to the toy-like essence of the head, completely separate to the great likeness.
You just don't want to see that big glob of jelly on his side there do you? :thud:

That's dedication :)
Where do you have to come from mate?

I think the sweat app will vary on each statue.. that blob if there will be going.agree the hair is a let down. GOD hair would have been much better.

It's subtle but the sweat app looks good there in your second pic 30cm. Be interested to know what you used.

The skin does have a translucent effect in these arm pics. Interesting.
30cm's other pics showing the statue from a distance display a more encouraging skin tone...more tanned than the pale colour seen in other pics.
Despite not being high quality shots, they are in a more ambient rather than direct light, so are hopefully fairly indicative of the actual skin colour.
