1) It's poseable without really having any of the detriments of being a figure
2) it looks better
3) it's probably going to look like what they advertised as opposed to SS which could look like complete **** up to pretty good (but still nowhere near what they advertised)

1) How does it not have any of the detriments of being a figure?
2) Some people could certainly have this opinion
3) SS and HT have had products that differ from prototype to final product. Both from looks and build quality.

1) Well maybe not for others, but the part that kills me about figures is the stand and the joints. The joints re pretty well covered in this one and it seems like it can stand without any help.
2) Yes this is obviously opinion, especially as it's ROTJ fett. I personally ordered both, but I think the HT one is better detailed from the photos seen so far. Also better "colors".
3) Granted I haven't seen a lot of HT stuff in person, but in general it seems to be a lot closer on the mark. And a lot of SS worst efforts (which are unfortunately not that uncommon) are so much worse from HT's worse efforts from what I've seen. However they've generally done well by the SW line. Paint wise at least, I feel that the mixed media failed in a few areas making it look horrible. But for example my first SS statue was the Isaac Clarke. It was a god damn travesty and they should be ashamed they even released something like that.

Obviously preference could go either way, but it is quite easy to see why someone would go with HT over the other, it's not unfathomable or anything like how whoever I responded was making it out to be.

You don't want to take that chance.

I can see the points that you made. For me, it's the statue still, but that's mostly because I just switched to PF from 1/6. Just couldn't get into them for some reason. Unfortunately the "crotch grabbers" and having to worry about lasting effects of posing on costumes were part of the reason. Also hated rooted hair on the female figures. The 1/4 lines from HT do seem to look good, though I don't have much interest in them for some reason.

To each their own. :duff

I can't understand why collectors can't be happy with both. Two 1/4 scale Boba Fett figures that are probably going to be the best versions made yet. I'd like an ESB Fett and a ROTJ Fett so will be after both to go with my 1/6 HT Proto and the Lego Slave 1 I hope to build with my son and display.

I'm not a big fan of crotch grabbers and stands but the HT Fett skiff stand looks pretty cool. The sideshow stand is lovely and suits the pose but the HT will allow the pose to change (ie the at ease cool and mean pose).

Whatever people choose this looks to be a very good year for Fett related collectibles.

I don't think people are necessarily unhappy with both, they just have a preference. It doesn't anger me that some people prefer the HT version, I just prefer to have a statue instead. They're quite different mediums, despite being the same scale.

Reg is 2500,
thought it would be OE.
Wow did not expect that, especially after Alex herself said that the reg would be an OE. This is good news for anyone that doesn't get the Ex.
The ht PF looks so awesome! And I was never a ht fan.
Dude its a fully poseable figure lol

The HT Fett will probably end up being better than the ROTJ PF. SS messed up a few things on that one, but it's still a solid piece. I'm partial to the ESB look, so until HT tackles that at 1/4 scale, the PF is where it's at, plus I like the pose SS went with.
