Re: 25-30 Days to Fett

It broke my heart because I was looking forward to the 4th top favorite sculpts (Dr. Doom, Hulk vs spidey, Lurtz being 1,2,3), but I pulled the cancellation trigger on this. Now, I can use the dough to buy 2-3 other things I've been holding off getting, mostly by GG.

That's why I want Jedi Luke, he wasn't whiney. He was bad ass. Off topic a little, I thought Yoda and Mace were arrogant punks in the PT, hating on Anakin. More annoying than Luke, to me.

Palpatine, screw the Jedi!!!

Re: 25-30 Days to Fett

I think that was intentional. It was their arrogance that brought about their downfall. If they had listened to Qui-Gon and devoted themselves to finding the Sith then things would have turned out differently. But Mace underestimated Qui-Gon (and then Anakin) and assumed that the Sith could not have returned without his knowing it. His arrogance and inaction enabled Palpatine to come to power.

The Jedi come off very badly in the PT. They took a generous, compassionate, selfless young boy and turned him into a bitter, arrogant, self-centered man, and were too inept to see these changes happening until it was far too late. They're every bit as responsible for helping create Darth Vader as Palpatine.

Re: 25-30 Days to Fett

I for one an grateful for the Jedi's ignorance, arrogance, stupidity, and whatever else you want to call them. Darth Vader "made" the first 3 movies, they would have sucked if you didn't have him to hate. :emperor

Re: 25-30 Days to Fett

The Jedi's ignorance and arrogance allowing Palpatine to rise to power through clandestine means echoes that of many dictators and tyrants throughout history, Hitler in particular.

I agree. The way they treated him left him no choice in the end IMO. They forced him to seek other means of trying to be the best Jedi Possible.

Re: 25-30 Days to Fett

Wow, that was a tour de force, reading through all these posts, but the subject seamed important enough... What I like to add to my first post here in this thread (https://sideshowcollectors.com/forums/showpost.php?p=363261&postcount=5) is that I eventually cancelled the Boba Fett PF.

If it was a genuine email posted here, I say the CS response was misplaced and rude. They should keep in mind that WE are the folks that finance their burgers. I remember once reading an equally rude reply (with more or less the same message) coming from Chicky here on the board. After spending thousands of dollars with Sideshow, I find it hard to tolerate such comments. Respect on both sides is what we need. I am fully aware that this case is an exception, and that the SSC CS usually, if not always, responds in a respectful way, trying to find a solution for the customers problem. Please let me belive that it will stay that way, for ever. That is that.

As for polystone items arriving damaged. I have received several damaged polystone figures coming straight from Sideshow in the past. Funny thing is that they where not damaged during transport, but apparently where already damaged even before they where painted. I think these items simply slipped past the quality control.

Yeah I know but to be fair to SS there always really sympathetic when something arrives damaged and seem to do whatever they can to get a replacement or refund. I don't like it when we're told if your not happy cancel but I can understand saying it when people are being aggressive or unreasonable.

Re: 25-30 Days to Fett

I can live with th plastic. I just hope that that color green looks better in person. I have been nothing but happy with my Sideshow items so far and I have yet seen an item posted on their site that does not look 10x better in person. I hope the same stands true for this.

Re: Fett!!! Fett!!! Fett!!!

You know, I've been watching this FETT made of plastic backlash thing on several forums and just thought I'd 'weigh in' on, well, the weight of the item (as posted on the SS site).

Since so many people seem to be complaining that 'made of plastic' means it'll be CHEAP and LIGHT and not appear or feel as HEFTY as polystone PF's...well, here's a breakdown to show that it seems to be on par (I'm sure it's been addressed/posted in another thread, I'm just doing this for fun...and because I can't WAIT for my PF Fett!):

PF Fett = 12 lbs

PF Vader = 15 lbs
PF Solo = 15 lbs
PF Kenobi = 12 lbs
PF Skywalker (tatooine) = 15 lbs
PF Skywalker (Dagobah W/Yoda) = 18 lbs
PF Vader = 15 lbs
PF Leia = 12 lbs
PF Lurtz = 16 lbs
PF Frodo = 5 lbs

So Fett weighs the SAME as Kenobi and just 3 lbs LESS than Vader? Sounds like it's comparable quality to me, Not CHEAP plastic...

In Turkiye we have a child's story. One guy ask his friend to keep the liver of the cow, while he will be away for vacation. When he returned 2 days later, his friend says that his cat ate the liver. the guy weighted the cat and found out that the cat is 2 kg and asks: if this is the liver, where is the cat? or if this is the cat, where is the liver

so where is the shipping price advantage they were talking about?

Re: Fett!!! Fett!!! Fett!!!

Good point IF~! (edit:lol)

The only thing I was worried about really was the weight... and if it's just as heavy as Kenobi, no probs here.

I'm just really excited about this one... Only have one payment left! :chew

Those numbers aren't completely accurate though, it sounds more like the shipping weight. I say that because, I actually weighed Vader and Obi-Wan before placing them on my Detolf shelving - they are actually closer to 12-13 lbs.

Would you by chance happen to have the exact weight of Iron Man and the Cap vs. Skull dio? If you do please let me know because I am worried about the weight on my shelves as well. Thanks!

Re: Fett!!! Fett!!! Fett!!!

I don't have those two, sadly.
