Not quite the exact same angle, but you get the idea. I'm not sure if there was any major differences in the ROTJ or ESB helmets, but yes the chin does not flair out as much as that ESB pic.

It does look like Jeremy Bulloch was craining his neck way forward. I remember some old pics without his helmet on, his neck peice was fairly tight around his neck.

Great comparison pics. :D

Hmm ... it seems to me that what is lost in the chin area is made up for at the back of the head. Notice how much more room there is at the rear of the Sideshow helmet, as opposed to the screen grab. Maybe Bullock had his head jutted out in that shot or something?

The PF figure is ROTJ, and the other pic is ESB. There were many subtle differences in the costume, including shape of the helmet. It varied slightly from movie to movie.

So if we're going to compare, we should probably have a ROTJ version of the helmet to compare the PF helmet to.

I'll see if I have a pic.

Nice comparison. You futzed the neck a bit to give the helmet more room or is that straight out of the box? I'd still prefer a little more area for his face but I'd now officially classify this as an "eh, close enough" situation. That alone wouldn't be a dealbreaker for me.

Good point, I forgot about Jeremy Bulloch's 1982 motorcycle accident that shaved his entire face off. :monkey3

Wow, didn't know about that. That's pretty harsh to live through something like that.

It wouldn't be a deal breaker for me either, as it looks pretty right on.

The only disappointing thing for me is that Sideshow made his kill bars yellow, when in the ROTJ version, they are red;

I pointed this out months ago after the statue was first shown and figured SS would be able to correct a very small detail like this, but for some reason they didn't.

Fett is just about 20.5" tall from base to antenna, and depending on what direction you turn him, he is about 11" at his widest.
So I guess I will need a 14 X 14 X 22 case then. Is he really that tall. Also do you think I could get away with 12 X 12 X 22.

Im trying to save a few bucks.

Straight out of the box. I'm sure that SSC's decision to have the head ball jointed is a reason why it may look slighty off to some. I for one think the idea was a good one.

Theses are just details...

Just details, huh? JUST DETAILS??

See, it's thinking like that which probably infests the development and QA departments at places like Gentle Giant (and even Sideshow at times) these days.

:(

People like Brent and myself can be overly "anal" and critical, yes. But that's because we do have an eye for detail and truly want these things to be as accurate and perfect as they can be. Why is that so bad?

Yes, I think he would just fit in a case that sized. There wouldn't be a lot of wiggle room, but I think he would just barely fit.

Tom, I'm really curious what you think of the Fett PF. I didn't go back through the thread, sorry if you've posted your sentiments already.

He looks great to me, I can't wait for Adam to ship mine.

I have one gripe thus far, the arm cables lack the reinforcement mesh inside, that is disappointing - the proto had them.

The tubes aren't glued down up inside his sleeve, and you can gently slide them out. I am going to get some tiny mesh and feed it in there so that it will look perfect. But first I need to send mine back for a replacement. After completely unpacking mine, the antenna is completely loose and won't stand up on its own. It flops down and rests at about a 45 degree angle at all times:

I could find a clumsy solution, but I might as well just swap it for a perfect one instead.

And for hopes for number 42.
