I hope folks who haven't seen this yet keep in mind it's a pretty modest movie. It's charming and brutal and funny but I'd hate to read one of the ol' "way overhyped" posts about this.

Very true, much of its impact (for me) came from knowing next to nothing about it and having zero expectations.

Okay I googled it and was glad I did. I don't care for that Eli Roth Hostel/Green Inferno type stuff and that death in Bone Tomahawk takes the cake, even in written form.

This was an extremely well written film. Great dialogue..

I have a feeling this film was afraid to be too Un PC... much of what the "bad guys" did in this film was actually done by some Indian tribes.. But that would have been too controversial so they made up this clan of cave dwellers. They kind of took me out of the film a bit. It is my only complaint.

Another reason I loved it - men on a mission, similar to Unforgiven, Rambo FB Part 2, Metal Gear Solid etc.

My complaint with the movie is

for a movie that felt like it took great pains to remain realistic I didn't buy for sec that Mrs O'Dwyer had been through everything she was supposed have been through by the time they find her. I've seen chicks who got drunk at concerts look worse than she did.
